20 Bible Verses About Not Giving in to Fear

Total Shares 207

The Bible is very clear about God commanding us to not fear, and not just telling us to try not to fear. In Isaiah 41:10, it says: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

God even told Joshua that He would be the next leader after Moses and told him to not be afraid—that God was going to give him and the Israelites the Promised Land.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)

When I am facing fear, I pray and cast out the spirit that is trying to attack my mind or emotions. (See 2 Timothy 1:7.) The Lord wants us to walk in faith, not fear. Faith is believing without seeing and not looking at our circumstances. When we look down at the waves, like Peter did when walking on water, we begin to sink. But when Peter’s eyes were fixed on Jesus, fear subsided and miracles occurred. The impossible is possible only when we believe.
