5 of My Favorite Music Videos!

Hey PI girls! Need some inspiration or just some great new music to listen to? Here are some of my favorite Christian songs that inspire me and have impacted my walk of faith.
My taste in music varies from folk to pop to hip-hop! I love it all and love the passion for the Lord each of these musicians has. Check out which five videos are at the top of my list!
1. Lecrae featuring C-Lite (Andy Mineo), “Background”
This song is about letting God take the lead in our lives…hence we are in the “background” and He is the superstar. Lecrae has such powerful lyrics and raps, and I love how C-Lite’s voice complements the song.
I love the part where Lecrae raps, “I’m stickin to your script and I’m reading all your signs…I don’t need my name in lights, I don’t need a starrin’ role…Why gain the whole wide world, if I’m just gonna lose my soul? If my ways ain’t purified and livin’ according to your word, I can’t endure this life without your wisdom being heard.” POWERFUL!
2. Flame featuring V-Rose, “Surrender”
The song is, of course, about surrendering our lives and opening our hearts completely to the Lord. I love V-Rose’s voice in the background and Flame’s bold stance for God! I love the lyrics in the beginning: “I’m never going to run, I am truly convinced, That Your ways are better–I’m not on the fence…Who distributes joy–who sets the soul free…Who can forgive sin, Jesus, who died for me.”
3. Tenth Avenue North, “You Are More”
I love Tenth Avenue North and their sound! They have such encouraging, inspiring and life-changing lyrics. The band has a gift to help people be free in their relationship with Christ and to fully trust God. This song is about the choices we make, whether good or bad, and that they don’t make us. Our identity as believers is royalty!
I also love the theme of the music video with the chalk board. There are all of the sins, mistakes and burdens people carry and with the living water, they’re washed away! It is so simple yet freeing to remember who we are and what has been established on the cross–we don’t have to be perfect and we never will be! We have Jesus who took our place!
My favorite lyrics are in the bridge where Mike, the lead singer, raises his voice and he proclaims, “’Cause this is not about what you’ve done, But what’s been done for you. This is not about where you’ve been, But where your brokenness brings you to.”
4. Britt Nicole, “Walk on Water”
This song is about stepping out in faith and not in fear. It talks about how insecurities try to hold you back and how you are made for more! We too can walk on the water and see God do mighty things! This song encouraged me so much in my faith and gave me courage to become the woman of God I am today. Here Britt Nicole explains the meaning behind the song and to step out in life.
5. Switchfoot, “We Are One Tonight”
I like this rock song about how we have so many similarities even though we all are different! It talks about how we are all flawed and we have upside-down worlds sometimes, but in the Lord we are healed! “We are one, tonight! And we’re singing it out! We are one, tonight! And we’re dreaming out loud! Though the world is flawed, These scars will heal …We are one, tonight!”
What’s your favorite inspirational music video?
