Affordable, Modest, Über-Stylish Fall Fashion for Christian Girls

TAGS: , , ,

PI ladies! I saw leaves falling outside my window today. Although fall in New England is breathtaking, it’s still a reminder that my favorite season–summer–is almost over.

It’s also a reminder that it’ll soon be time to pull out our fall gear, make sure we have everything we need and maybe even add some fresh looks to our style.

If you’re looking for some fall fashion ideas, you’re in luck–I’m about to offer you a jumbo-sized presentation! And the best part? These selections are not only affordable, but they’re also modest and über stylish. Because, after all, only modest is hottest for us Christian gals!

So get comfy, ladies!

Fall fashion to me means longer sleeves and extra layers in the many warm colors of the season. The temperatures are still pretty warm as the season begins, but the evenings get colder faster, and warm days become less frequent as the chill starts to kick in. But those layers don’t have to cover up your style!

Let’s start with dresses.

I’ve decided to shop for more dresses. I think they’re the easier option since they’re only one piece. Dresses save time! What do you think, ladies?

My selection begins with a pretty soft sienna dress with an elastic waist and flared skirt. The sleeves feature crocheted details. This is a lovely relaxed look that’s great for when the season begins to cool. Next is more of a tailored dress with a round neckline, capped sleeves and straight skirt. If you do consider this style, make sure no cleavage shows and the skirt is not tight or short. Last is a lovely sweater dress in a beautiful fall green. Sweater dresses are so comfortable and feminine, and they go great with tall boots and opaque nylons!

The shirts I’ve selected are quite tailored. Each example offers various features that add some dimension to their styles, such as collars, pockets, crocheted lace and tassel ties.

These designs may seem a little formal, but don’t be fooled–they can be worn casually, such as in the picture above with the jeans.

As the weather gets cooler, you’ll need some items to keep the chill out.

I thought it would be fun to add a poncho to the mix, and they look great with a pair of jeans or a skirt. Or opt for a knitted pullover with a hood. Both are lightweight, so you can wear them as the day cools into the evening.

A simple cardigan in a beautiful fall hue is also an option, and the cream cable vest with tie waist goes with pretty much anything.

I wanted to come up with some fun skirts, but the majority of them are just too short or not very stylish at all, in my opinion.

The long tiered maxi skirt in the above picture did catch my eye, however, and I think it looks great with the rest of the model’s ensemble. I would add a little color though–maybe with a scarf and handbag.

Looking for some pants to fit into your fall collection? If you don’t have a great pair of modest jeans, how about some wide leg flares?

The wide leg linen pants on the right are so elegant. A light material is perfect for fall pants because it accommodates for the temperature transition in a typical fall day. Both styles go great with the tops and sweaters in this collection.

As the weather gets colder, you’ll eventually have to add a coat to your outfits. But coats don’t have to hide your fun fall ensembles. Instead, they can be a part of them.

All fall wardrobes should include a denim jacket for a casual look, I believe. The red corduroy jacket on the right features a faux shearling collar and adds color to complete your outfit.

The double-breasted coats above are stunning and versatile. When selecting a fall coat, you want it to go with everything you have, so be particular about the color you choose.

Adding the coat to your look can be the final touch, but it doesn’t have to be. You can add accessories! This is where the fun really starts.

The image above is a great example of how accessories play a huge part in your fall look. In fact, items such as scarves are a fantastic way of adding color and life to your ensemble.

The scarves above are perfect for fall. The wrap could easily cover the lace bib top featured earlier in this collection, or the scarf can be added to the poncho as the season cools. That’s the beauty of this autumn selection–you can pretty much mix and match the various items.

I’ve added a couple of belts, too. They add another dimension to your outfit and have both a useful and appealing effect. You can add a belt to a pair of jeans or even to pull in the waist of a dress.

Both the cutout skinny belt and the metallic braided belt add a fun feminine touch to your look. If possible, you should match your belt as closely as you can to your shoes. Did I mention shoes? Guess what’s next?

Some girls live for shoes. Let’s be honest–in many cases, shoes can make an outfit. I know some of you ladies may have questions about the height of heels when considering both age and outfit. If you’re interested, check out my post, How Old, How High? My Guide to Heels.

I began with flats, which usually go with anything. The red patent ballet shoe with the ruffle is just adorable.

Ankle boots are my favorite and all three of these styles are cute. Browns and reds are great fall colors. Each boot offered features a fun element such as buckles or tassels.

Let’s not forget the high boot. This style looks fantastic with dresses and skirts, especially with matching opaque tights.

And if this is not enough, then you can add another dimension. A hat!

Hats seem to be the forgotten accessory, and yet there are so many fun and stylish designs to choose from. Every season affords the opportunity to wear a hat, but fall seems to have the most classical offerings. Go back in time with my selections above, but notice that from the wool floppy hat to the newsboy design, each item can be worn with much of what has been chosen in this fall collection.

Handbags are my last offering in this fall fashion guide. Bags should be both useful and aesthetically pleasing.

These bags can be worn with both casual and more formal outfits.

Remember, you don’t have to overhaul your whole wardrobe, but rather, you can add a few items here and there that can help enhance what you’ve already got. Whether it’s a a pair of shoes, a handbag, a jacket or a hat, you can add a fresh touch to your style.

Which items are your favorite? What would you add to this collection to make it complete?

While these styles are great, they just aren’t the kind of thing that is teen-friendly. Modesty is important, and I remember that when I shop, but these clothes are not my style
