January 2012 Cosmo Tells Girls to Keep Having Sex With Cheating Boyfriend!!

Nicole Weider

This editorial makes me sick. It is telling girls, “Oh it’s normal if he cheats on you, that’s to be expected! You aren’t any more special than the last girl. Just forgive him, and please him again!”

Here is the layout:

I didn’t know that Cosmo calls this a “dress,” but whatever, that’s cool.

Please God, let me run into my ex so I have the opportunity to have sex with him again! Even though we’re not even going out anymore!

Hey girls- don’t expect monogamy. Here at Cosmo we push random hookups, and don’t be surprised if he’s sleeping around! After all, he’s a hottie!

I thought after having sex with him, I’d be “the one.” I feel used and mistreated. Cosmo isn’t helping me.

It’s fine, he is sleeping around, but that’s normal. Maybe I’ll do that new sex position mentioned in Cosmo to make him stay this time.

It’s healthy to fight about men cheating on you!!

Kate White’s advice to girls? DO IT AGAIN WITH HIM!!!

This editorial layout is emphasizing to girls that it’s fine to be cheated on. Not only is Cosmo encouraging and “daring” girls to try GRAPHIC SEX TIPS, but its editorial stories are harming girls as well.

STOP COSMO FROM MARKETING PORN TIPS TO UNDERAGE GIRLS BY SIGNING THIS PETITION TO PUT THAT GRAPHIC AND EXPLICIT MAG IN A BAG!

What are your thoughts?

Until the great mass of the people shall be filled with the sense of responsibility for each other’s welfare, social justice can never be attained (Helen Keller)

SHARE with everyone and LIKE to create awareness to this social revolution against Cosmo!!

I honestly can’t believe that Cosmo really wants girls like Dakota to have sex. The only thing girls at the age of 17 should be worrying about is school work and college.

They don’t want girls like Dakota to have sex. Just because she’s on the cover doesn’t mean she’s doing what the magazine says. It’s just a photo shoot. And her interview was all about her moving to new york and going to college.

I am a 13 year old girl with morals and my virginity. Not some cheating boys sex toy. There are few of those out there. And Cosmo has contributed to that sad fact. I would rather get Cosmo in a trash bag then a non transparent one, but Nicole you are honestly a very inspirational woman and Strong in your faith. Thank you so much for this. God Bless.

Thats horrible and gross.I’ve heard man including my husband(I’m a married teen) say they’d never cheat or even look at another girl or porn which is cheating to God.Yet all men cheat and like porn acording to cosmo.Thats not msg I want a eight year old girl standing in line with her mom in a grocery store reading. And what about the little boys who see this and thinks well I have to be like that because I’m a male and girls are fine with it.

This is revolting!!!!!! If a guy cheats on you, you SHOULD NOT go back with him, let alone have sex with him. Cosmo has absolutely NO morals, and its harming young girls and convincing them to be like that too. Its a personal guide on how to be slutty. Its so disgusting and terrible to a point where I almost want to cry!!! Cosmo MUST be stopped.

You’re a liar nicole. You should be ashamed of yourself. you KNOW you’re not telling the truth or the whole story. You’re blind to the facts and distort them so they match your own views.

Nicole is anything but a liar. YOU should be ashamed for accusing her of that. Shes not blind to anything or distorting anything, its all RIGHT THERE. Any of us can see the awful things Cosmo is portraying and how it affects young girls. You cant say shes lying, because shes not. Nicole is NOT a liar.

Liar?!? She Is SHOWING us the proof. She has shown us the REAL magazine and, hopefully not much longer, you can pick up the magazine and read it yourself to see how bad it is. Shame on you for accusing her.

Sometimes I wish I was rich enough to buy out the whole company then fire all the workers and burn down the factory. The magazine is a waste of trees anyway. 😛

I think it’s really great that you’re fighting to make Cosmo unavailable to underage girls. I have a heart for girls that have been abused or trafficked, so I have a slightly different view on Cosmo. Self-respect is soooo important, especially when it comes to girls. I think that if girls wouldn’t feel so pressured to be sexually active (Cosmo being a big source of pressure) then girls wouldn’t end up in so many bad situations. There are many other factors in this problem, but I think that pressure from others is a huge one. Articles like this (that tell a girl she isn’t worth much)are disgusting and lead girls to believe that they are not worth respect, and when they believe that, they are much more likely to be hurt.

While there is nothing wrong with make-up sex,it is wrong with a boyfriend. A boyfriend is not a husband. Sex should only be with a husband. I wonder how many girls are mentally and physically broken because of this magazine.

This makes me sad :'( There are a lot of amazing people in the world, but there are horrible things as well. And the horrible things seems to be taking over practically the entire media!

I’m confused about this article… what did the actual Cosmo article say? I mean I understand that you don’t support them and I totally agree, but this seemed a little… overdone? If these are like, direct quotes then I understand…

From what I can tell, Nicole is putting her own opinions in without giving us verifiable information as to the reality of the article. Good to know.

      • Posted by Nicole on January 6, 2012 at 17:59

They publish PORN TIPS in the magazine to minors. That’s what I’m fighting against. These are not my opinions, these are facts. Last issue it told girls to have anal sex, that’s not my opinion.

If you’re willing to just give yourself away to someone who is just going to do the same thing again and probably hasn’t even apologized, is that what you call right? So, I should just hop into bed with the next person to hurt me?

So why don’t you just boycott the writer of that article? Tell her she’s an idiot or something. It’s not porn. It’s for adults. Get over yourself!!!!!

It has vulgar and graphic pictures of women, it teaches girls that all they are is a sex toy for any guy off of the street, and it gives specific pornographic websites for girls to check out. What about that is okay for you?

      • Project Inspired

Posted by Amari on January 13, 2012 at 10:31

Cosmo doesn’t teach girls that. They’re giving out tips, not lecturing a seminar. You don’t have to follow them if you don’t want to.

You’re making fun of someone else’s opinion. How about you just leave the negative comments to yourself?

  19. Project Inspired

Posted by Mizfit on January 6, 2012 at 08:00

This is…. I don’t even know how to describe it! It’s pretty much telling girls and women that the only thing they are is a sex toy. They should give it all away to the first guy they might like, and when he “cheats” (because their relationship was so sacred… *eye roll*) they need to learn to be ok with that.

If anyone has ever stumbled across their facebook page, they would see that Cosmo is ONLY about sex. That’s ALL they ever post about!!! It’s SICK! Are they trying to brain wash women into thinking that porno style sex is the only thing they should be doing with their life? Or they’re probably just messing with peoples’ fleshy hunger for lust… all for money?

As I have stated before, I’ve signed the petition and filed a complant. I can’t wait for this to be in a bag where only the older of the troubled suscribers will be able to buy it!

This is horrible. I’m fifteen and would never want to see this in a normal store. I mean, I wouldn’t want to see it, and it’s available for so many little kids to see. And it’s not just the kids that don’t need to see it. Nobody does… ugh. Thanks for sharing this!!

Getoverit, you need to get over yourself and stop arguing. If you’re not going to be supportive of Nicole through this, then she really doesn’t need you bringing her down, so keep your negative comments to yourself, please.

And you’re right. This magazine is for adults. But its now being targeted towards minors. That’s ILLEGAL. So if its for adults, make it available to them only. Shes not being the morality judge, shes doing what’s right. Shes doing this to help thousands of girls. So what’s your big issue with that? If its causing this many problems, and so many people aren’t controling their kids through it, then let her do everyone a favor and HELP. Since you’re SO against that for some reason, you don’t have to support it. But don’t negatively comment and bring down those of us who are trying to help.

it won’t let me reply to “getoverit” so I’m doing it here:
THIS HAS BEEN COVERED. Time and time and time again! Children can see the covers, that’s why she wants them to be in a nontransparent cover. She is NOT “the morality judge,” she’s doing what she feels God has called her to do. God tells us what is right and wrong, therefore, she knows. Getting the magazines covered will keep girls from being tempted to buy/flip through them.

      • Project Inspired

Posted by getoverit on January 6, 2012 at 09:58

Why do you think you get to be the morality judge? If parents aren’t monitoring what their kids read or do, that’s their fault. If girls as young as 11 are reading this AND having sex, that’s an issue their parents need to resolve. It’s for adults. For crap’s sake, I bought one at the grocery store, scanned it at the self-checkout and I had to have one of the employees come over and verify that I could get it! So if 11 year olds are getting it, it’s because their moms or sisters are leaving them lying around. I hope the view from your ivory tower is nice.
