Farmer Respectfully Suggests Rihanna Become Acquainted with God

Rihanna recently was in Ireland filming the video for her new song, “We Found Love.” The selected location was a large piece of farmland in Bangor, County Down, where she posed in a bikini and other skimpy outfits.
Concern arose, however, when the singer moved to the wheat fields and frolicked topless. It was at this point that the farmer and owner of the land, Mr. Alan Graham, politely asked the crew to stop filming.
Graham is a Christian man in his 60s who is obviously old-fashioned and principled. Little did he know that when he authorized a film crew to shoot a music video on his land, he would be asking a young lady to cover up her “assets.”
Graham was not intimidated by the fact that Rihanna is a celebrity (although he did admit that he initially did not know who she was), or that the filming attracted a huge crowd of onlookers to his field. He simply found her to be in an inappropriate “state of undress,” and so he put an end to it. But there’s more…
Before the crew left, Graham had a few words directly with Rihanna. He asked her to cover up and then suggested that she become more “acquainted with God.” Don’t you love that? He didn’t care that she is a big Hollywood star, because for him God is greater and his first priority is to his Lord and Savior.
“Everybody needs to be acquainted with God and to consider his son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and his death and Resurrection,” the farmer told reporters when they interviewed him about the incident.
Graham couldn’t have approached this situation any better. He was respectful to Rihanna and her crew. He voiced his concern in a positive way, and then he asked them to leave. The fact that they did leave without argument is an indication of the way in which they received his message. If they had been offended, I am sure they would have caused a scene. But based on the reports, there was no conflict at all following his request.
Even when interviewed about the event, Graham was very positive and respectful. He couldn’t come right out and explain that it was a topless Rihanna that was the last straw for him. He would leave that for the papers to disclose. Take a look at the news clip below.
Graham’s response to this situation was fantastic. He demonstrates how we as Christians should glorify God. We too should stick to our Christian values, spread His word with courtesy and respect, and leave on good terms. Graham seems to be a very gracious man with a strong relationship with God. We could learn a lot from him.

I think it’s great that he was able to stand up for Christ, and tell Rihanna and her crew something that needed to be heard.
Wow Rhianna should not have been running around topless let alone in that skimpy of a bikini. And that must have taken a lot of courage to do on the farmers part! God Bless Him!!
I love how even in the face of a celebrity, he knew his morals and stuck to them. So many other people would have been like “OMG its Rihanna i cant say no to her” blah blah blah. of course, he didnt really know who she was at first, but that was a good thing

I think this is amazing. I just came home from a mission trip to Ireland not too long ago and the people there can be quite um, racy shall we say? So this gives me immense joy to hear this faithful farmer who is true to his faith.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MAN!!!! He is a true man of God!!!! I think we need more people like him!!! More people should be like this and tell others respectfully like Graham, to get more acquainted with God if you see them doing wrong, that really took courage!!!

I have a great amount of respect for Graham. He stayed true to his beliefs and stood up for what was right, even though nobody else was. We need more Christians like him!

I love this story! It is wonderful that a christain man stood up for his values. I think there are a lot of good christain men who love Jesus & want to keep their thoughts clear from sin and it makes it especially hard for them when women dress inapropriatly. I wish women with the power to set examples for others wouldn’t have lowered the bar to topless! Do women like Rihanna realize that their provacative behavior sets standards for what men expect from us girls! It’s not right to expose yourself like that~save it for your bedroom! I’m sick of seeing other womens bodies every day!

What a precious man! I absolutely think he responded in a great way. He never spoke down at Rihanna or her crew. He was very loving and sincere and kind in his approach with her and the news station. He was answering their questions, yet he was still being polite to the situation in not spilling everything out to the public. It’s not our business anyway. That’s between Rihanna and Graham. But I most definitely think that is exactly how any Christian should deal with that issue. (:
