Been wanting to connect with some other PKs 🙂 Not many in my area to talk with about the PK struggle. Tough stuff going on at my church (and thus in my family)

Hey! I’m kind of a PK. My Dad’s an ordained pastor, but is not currently pastoring a church. I grew up with my grandfather as my pastor. I very much understand the ‘living in a glass box’ effect. I totally understand how when things aren’t right at church how it can affect the home. I’m 17 and last fall I started going to a different church and honestly, I’ve been happier than I’ve ever been.
Unless it directly involves you I’d say, leave it up to your parents to figure it out. I’m sure they don’t want it to stress you and would hate if it ended up negatively influencing you. Hope everything turns out ok!

I use to be a PK, so as @KalissaMinistry said it I also understand the “living in a class box effect”. I honestly hated being a PK. It was so hard having people compare you. I mean I was pretty young but I still very much remember what it was like. Oh and having your dad use you as an example in a sermon was the worst! But on another note being the Pk also meant kids were nicer to you in Sunday school. haha. It can also be rough when there is something major going on in the church because that can also effect your home life since you’re so involved. Trust me I understand the whole PK life. #TheStruggleIsReal

I’m not a PK per say, Ex-PK, but now my mom works on ministry staff and is very involved in church politics. If you need someone to talk to I’m here!

Hey dearies!! I’ve been a PK my whole life and became an MK three years ago when my family moved from a rural city in North Carolina to an urban, crime filled city in New York. My dad is basically a Bible study leader now, but everyone still considers him a pastor. 🙂 It’s so nice to meet other PKs!!!

Hey. I am an adoptive PK. I have lived with these Amazing people for almost 9 years and they didn’t just adopt me but my 3 other siblings too. I also went to church while i was in foster care as well. But yeah, there is alot of tough stuff going on in my life as well. being honest i just got outta placement due to suicide attempts, and thoughts and self harm; i wanna say no matter how hard life gets remember you are theTemple in which Gods spirit shines through on Earth; so NEVER EVER hurt yourself or take your own life, its not worth it!!!!! You have soo much potential and I hope you cna see it.
