I’m going to start the 100 hard things challenge tomorrow.

I linked a description of it up above, but basically you do one hard thing every day until you have completed 100 hard things. These hard things could be anything–it could be something simple, ie. completing a homework assignment, doing a chore w/o being asked, speaking up for yourself, sharing an opinion etc. to something complicated like organizing a fundraiser or sponsoring a child.

So first you choose to complete the 100 Hard Things challenge, then you choose how to record each of your 100 hard things.

You can go public on a blog, or you can write it down in a private journal.

I’m planning to write mine in a private journal, but I thought I would be cool if we shared the hard thing we accomplish each day on this topic too, for encouragement.

Here’s the actual steps from the website:

Take Action:
◾Make your first entry: “1. Accepted the ‘100 Hard Things’ Challenge.”
◾Choose your platform (e.g. choose/buy a journal, post on Facebook, etc.)
◾Tell your parents, pastor, or friend about the challenge.
◾Invite a friend to take the challenge with you.

Doing the challenge 🙂
I started July 23rd. I’m up to 5 so far here’s some of the ones I did (note: these may not be hard for you but they were hard for me)
1. accepted the 100 hard things challenge
3. admitted to doing something wrong instead of lying about it
4. forgave someone

Cinnaronda, thanks for sharing and keeping this thread going! Those are definitely hard things!

Rainbowuni~ You don’t have to come up with 100 hard things before you start. Sometimes I have a general idea of what I want to do, but mostly my hard thing of the day just comes on that day. The main reason I wanted to start the challenge is because I find myself thinking, “I’d like to do XYZ today but it’s too hard/scary/etc.” When I started the challenge, it changed my mindset. Instead of being like, “That’s hard, scary etc. so I’m not going to do it”, I say “That’s hard/scary so I’m definitely going to do it, so I can accomplish my hard thing of the day.

If there’s nothing specificly hard that day, I’ll go find something. Just do something that makes you uncomfortable. Imagine something you want to accomplish in the future that would be really hard and take the first step towards actualizing it. Or go out of your way to talk to a stranger or write a letter to a teacher. Whatever gets you out of your comfort zone!

One of my hard things was going to orientation, staying focused and getting out of my comfort zone by talking to, well, everyone. It actually ended up being super easy! Everyone was really nice and friendly and I ended up having a great time and making good friends.

I also got comfortable asking questions and admitting when I didn’t know/understand something, which for me is a superrrrr big thing 🙂

8 HOURS!!! Wow that’s amazing!
Today I finally got number 6 ( again this may not be hard for you but is was kinda hard for me xD)
6. Spreaded the word
This was hard for me because in the past I didn’t seem Christian.. AT ALL. Me and the guy were arguing on something he thought about doing and I had the perfect verse on why not to. Back then I didn’t read the Bible, I didn’t pray, I didn’t do the right things. The guy was surprised when I shared the verse. He had no clue I was Christian at all and reflected back onto the past wrong things I’ve done. I had to explain later on that back then I wasn’t actually seeking to improve. I’d say I was Christian just to say so, but now I’m very different. Later on he agreed I was right and decided that he would try to improve himself.
I’m so glad that’s over 🙂
