This is kind of hard to do for fear of rejection but, I identify as a lesbian and as a Christian and I don’t see the clash between those two things. It feels like most of the lesbians on here are pretty hidden or just don’t exist with the exception of one or two profiles. If you do exist, say hi and if you don’t agree with being gay feel free to talk about it because I really love hearing everyone’s interpretations of the Bible and of sin.

I’m not a lesbian, but I’m an ally. My opinion on the Bible is that a lot of it has been mistranslated and misunderstood(and not just on the subject of homosexuality).
There are LGBTQIA girls on here, so I’ll wait for them to get here 🙂
I think this is something we should talk about more often!
Also, I think you should talk to Kendall: http://latterdaytrans.tumblr.com/
I’m messaging him now and he’s rad 🙂

I’m a lesbian. Dysfunctiona, emotional, snuggly and sad, but I’m here. I also agree; they don’t interlap. There was no actual noun for “homosexual person” in biblical times. Or straight person, for that matter, and there wasn’t until the 1800s. There’s no possible way the purest text of the Bible, or its overarching messages conemned us, if we as a concept, never existed in its’ writer’s lifetimes.
Also, cool fact; while Church officials and individuals can be pretty bad about it, the Catholic Church used to be a place of solace and shelter for LGBT people, due to the fact that they’ve always been meditative and intellectual and have had sways of tolerance. In fact, that’s why Oscar Wilde on his deathbed, and later his boyfriend Alfred Douglas first came to what Wilde called “Mother Church,” and they’re just a few examples of LGBT+ Christians who have a more complex relationship to faith than people like to believe.

Hey girls, I’m not a lesbian and I don’t support the homosexual lifestyle (this is based on everything I’ve been taught, the Bible, and my convictions) but I’m not here to condemn you. It’s got to be hard for all of y’all that identify as homosexual when many churches flat out shun people for that lifestyle. This world would be a better place if all churches would just love everyone. To me that doesn’t mean supporting whatever sin they’re dealing with, but just loving them and letting God work on their heart.

@alie35, thanks so much, to be honest. It can be really reassuring to know! You’re a lovely human being and your sister is lucky to have a cool sibling like you.

Well, God calls us to love everyone. Some people don’t understand that. 🙂 Keep being you! <3
