I need your help. 😀

This may sound weird, but I need to know what’s currently in for clothing right now. I’m going back to school after taking a couple years off before college, and I want to have a few cute, trendy things to wear. (I know I don’t need to be trendy to look good, but I think it would be a lot of fun to have some trendy clothes.) The only problem is I’ve always been the awkward dresser who has no idea what’s trendy or even what looks good on me, and now I’ve spent a couple years without really being around a lot of teens. I’ve been trying to dress nicer lately (finally bought skinny jeans for the first time this year), but it’s been slow going so I was hoping some of you might have some advice. So, for all the fashion lovers out there…

1. What is your favorite store(s)?
2. What are you favorite current fashion trends?
3. What are your wardrobe must haves?
4. What tips do you have for dressing a skinny, petite body type?
5. Anything else?

Thank you very much! 🙂

1. I love American Eagle (slightly pricey, but super cute!), H&M (score TONS of amazing deals there!), Target, Kohl’s, and TJMaxx.
2. I don’t really dress by trend, I just buy what I like and what looks good on me. I have seen a lot of cold-shoulder tops (though those were in like two years ago, I think they’re coming back), rompers are in, tribal prints (double points for neon tribal prints)… I’m really trying to rack my brain for trends. Like I said, I don’t really keep up with them, so maybe I’m not the most helpful person, but I’m trying!
3. Skinny jeans, simple solid-colored tops (black, dark green, blue, purple).
4. I’m not petite or skinny, really, but I would suggest something flowy or slouchy on top, not tight-fitting. But make sure it’s not so flowy it swallows you. For bottoms, probably skinny jeans.
5. Just shop until you find something you like, flatters you, and isn’t gonna break the bank. Don’t worry too much about trends and styles, and have fun with it! 🙂

1. Forever 21, platos closet, Target, Kohl’s, Jcpennys, Sears-Pretty much anywhere with a huge clearance rack!
2. I love the skirt over leggings look!
3. Camisoles. I have all sorts of camisoles in all colors because I love layering shirts.
4. Being one my self, I advise you try looking at Kohl’s for pants. Forever 21 has $3.90 leggings tha t are always a good look. Shirts are always Eady for me to find. Look at lots of places, shop online before going to stores.
5. Always look at clearance first. Try things that you don’t think you would like.. If it doesn’t fit, don’t buy it.
