Hey y’all so I’ve got thick, naturally awkward wavy, long brown hair (if you look at my picture, i’m the one in the middle) and tho I looooove love love the length, I really want to change up my hair. I dont want to color or perm it (tho ombre is being considered haha). what can i do to change it without losing all the length? i’ve tried side swept bangs before- that was a no, and i’ve tried layers- cant remember how that worked. it needs to still be able to be put up in a ponytail (cuz bball) thanks!

Same problem! Maybe just cut off one or two inches? That way you could keep all that braidable length without losing the look 😀 One thing I reccomend is the Instyle Virtual Makeover . Even if you don’t use it for the actual cut it’s still so much fun:D

Btw Ombre sounds cool! I love Lucy Hale’s style of Ombre!!:D

I died my hair a Blue and Purple ombre the middle of this summer and adored it! I support dying hair. Do it the only down side is it fading. It’s awesome and makes you feel like a fairy, mermaid, goddess.

Haha that’s fun! I’ve tried diff parts and it just doesn’t stay :/ What colors of ombre would look most natural with dark brown hair?

Either blonde or black. but don’t get bleached highlights. It makes you look like a skunk…

Well that’s good advice I’d rather not look like a skunk *crying laughing emoji* so which would be better in your opinion? Black would be getting darker, and blonde lighter right? (idk how this stuff works haha) would black make me look goth or anything? haha

Oh goodness! So I just found bayalage. I love this much better than ombre because it’s less maintenance and it looks so much more natural! Would black or blonde still look best with bayalage?

I think you should try black because you said you wanted to keep your hair healthy so you wouldn’t have to bleach it that way.

Alright! I will let you know if I have the guts to do it haha! 🙂 do you know what the maintenance is like for bayalaged hair? like do i need to re-bayalage it every so often or will it fade on its own… etc lol sorry ive never done anything like this before so idk what im doing

If you did it with blonde the color might fade to more of a white and you want to redye it to keep its original color. But it will stay lighter because of the bleach.

Okay! I can’t wait to see! Make sure the put a towel on your pillow if it isn’t done professionally just to make sure that you don’t stain your pillow.

Haha alright! I’ll let you know if I go through with it *crying laughing emoji*
