So I want to ask, because I really don’t know why, but why do some Christians disagree with dancing? I would love your answers

I’m not really sure. Some might disagree with the close proximity of two people of opposite genders. Some might condemn the dance moves themselves. I, personally, love dancing and have no problem with it. I think it’s great fun and can be a good stress reliever. As long as the dance moves aren’t sexual, I think dancing is fine.

Depends on the types of dancing. Some people may see dancing as promiscuous and worldly. They think it might lead people to think bad things. I personally believe there is nothing wrong with most types of dancing! It’s an art! Even then though, I do believe that there are some things that we should be cautious of. As it is though, I don’t think it’s right to hate dancing as a whole like many Christians, but just be cautious.

Okay good! I totally agree with bothe of you. I just never understood why some Christians leave early from the reception just before the dancing begins. I still don’t understand that part but I am happy I’m not the onl one who doesn’t thing dancing is wrong

Well when children decide to drive to another town to go dancing, sometimes they drink or someone else drinks and then a car goes off the bridge and kids die and maybe one of the kids was the pastors kid and maybe the pastor sees all the bad things about dancing now and he can no longer see the good things about dancing and kids these days can get into a lot of trouble, you see. it is “an enterprise which is as fraught with genuine peril. Besides the liquor and the drugs which always seem to accompany such an event the thing that distresses me even more, is the spiritual corruption that can be involved. These dances and this kind of music can be destructive”

Footloose 😛 And there’s really nothing wrong with dancing. It’s a form of art. It’s just seen as wrong when the dancing involves movement that are considered sexual or when two people are like way too close to each other or something

That’s so interesting you asked this!
I’m a part of a Christian Dance Troupe. We dance to worship music, using tambourines, streamers, and other things.
The Bible actually talks about praising God with dancing. (Psalms 150:4 –Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes!)
Once, when I had invited a friend’s mom to go to one of our dances, I was told that Christians weren’t allowed to dance! I was so confused, since the verse on the backs of our dance shirts specifically stated that I was to “praise him with the dance”.
So I think Christians should dance in worship, in excercise, and in glorification to our Lord… But NOT in an obscene, dirty way. That’s just disgusting.
(Also, the woman may have changed her mind after she saw our dances. Praise God!)
