Hi everyone 🙂 Okay, so, this may be a little long. There’s this guy that I’m crazy about, (we’ll call him M) and I have been for a little over 2 years (crazy, I know), and we’ve been good friends for a while now. He’s a pastors kid, and I met him at youth group when we were in 8th grade. We used to go to his church, but we switched churches, but I still attend the youth group there. M and I also go to the same school, we’re both in 10th grade. Him and I don’t hang out too often, but when we do, we always have a really fun time together and we always enjoy each others company. He’s really into music, and he’s super duper talented when it comes to singing and playing guitar (it’s one of the things I like about him). Another thing I love about him is that he loves God so much. He’s not the type of guy to flirt and date a bunch of girls, he plans on dating one girl (“The One”) and marrying her after courting, and I’m the same exact way when it comes to dating. There’s this girl that he *used* to like back in 8th grade, but they’ve parted ways since then, though they talk every once in a while. This girl (S) and I used to be friends, but she actually stopped being my friend when I told her that I like M, so she isn’t always very nice to me.
Anyways, M is so confusing it hurts my head. He talks to me a lot when we’re together, and we’re actually going to a Lecrae concert in a couple of weeks (I like to call it a date… my parents will just be there too; a girl can dream, right?) and Youth Convention is coming up next week, and him and I will spend time together during that as well. Last Sunday on Easter, I went to his church, and when he saw me, a big smile grew on his face, like he was happy to see me. He leads worship, and I caught him looking at me often while he was singing (but I guess that means he caught me looking at him too, so…) and after service, my parents and I went up to talk to him, and he teased me and we joked around, and my dad actually told me after we left that he saw M look at me a lot while we were all together, even when I wasn’t talking. There are some other examples that I left out, but as you can see, I have reasons to believe that he likes me. Here’s where my doubt comes in. He never texts me. He’ll text me every once in a while asking questions that he already knows the answer to, but this happens every once in a blue moon. Whenever I text him, he’ll reply, but he doesn’t make much effort to keep the conversation going, so we don’t text often. He always smiles and waves in the hallway, and whenever we’re together, we talk a lot and have a great time, but he never texts me. Is he just trying to be friendly when we’re together, or does he actually like me? Any input is greatly appreciated! Thank you! ~Katie 🙂

Hey girl! Okay, so based on what I’ve read, he sounds like a great guy and a potential boyfriend. Don’t worry about the texting; some people just aren’t as into it as others. I’m not a huge texter. Not because I don’t care about my friends or anything like that, it’s just not my thing. And if you’re not sure about what message this guy is trying to give you, ask him. I did this with a guy and it actually worked out pretty well. I’d ask him during a time when it’s easy to talk and to not make it awkward. Just say, “Hey M, I know this may be weird, but I’m kind of confused. Is this a date or not?” He’ll probably ask you if you want it to be, and from there the ball’s in your court. The only thing is to make sure that this is what God wants. From what I’m seeing, He probably approves, but I’m not going to put words in His mouth. Just pray and hope that He leads you in a good direction. Hope this helps!
