So as I am writing this, I have my new baby guinea pig sitting in my lap. She is the absolute cutest thing I have ever called mine, and I love her very much. I just got her yesterday, but I have noticed something strange… She isn’t drinking out of her water bottle. At all. I’ve been feeding her celery, and she’s eating it so I know she’s still getting some liquid from that (?). Do any of you who have had guinea pigs before have any ideas for how to get her to drink from her water bottle? This is my third guinea pig, but this has never happened before. I did have a guinea pig that wasn’t drinking, but that was because he was sick. I don’t think this one is sick, I just think she’s having difficulty adjusting maybe? Anyway, any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Congratulations on the baby guinea pig! 🙂
How long have you had her? I’ve heard it can sometimes take a while for them to relax and start drinking, but that’s never happened with mine.

I got her on Thursday afternoon, so not that long.

Hopefully she’ll start soon. That sounds alarming. I’m not sure what else to say.
