So I was just relaxing and this thought hit me that has triggered many reactions: Maybe I’ll die young before I’m old.
I spend so much time planning my future-
What college will I go to? I’ve got to keep up grades so I can be whatever I want! Who am I going to marry? I totally should start looking now or I might miss him. How many kids will I have? I SO want my first born son’s name to be Jake. I need to start a journal I can give to my future kids so they have something from me to cherish.
And that’s where I thought- what if I die before I have kids? What if I die before I get married or really get to date someone that’s near perfect for me? What if I spend so much of my time looking to the future and it never happens, and I miss out on the now? Wait, shouldn’t I be worried about that anyways?

So now I’m in somewhat of an existential crisis…. any thoughts girls? does anyone relate or am I just going completely insane?

You aren’t going insane. I completely understand how you feel. You can’t know for sure. You just have to trust that God will lead you to where he wants you to be. It’s important to plan for the future, even though it isn’t guaranteed, but still live in the moment and enjoy now. Just be sure to live each day, but keep a plan for later. 🙂

You’re at a point in life where these are all things that may be coming up soon. It makes sense to have them in your head–Heaven knows I feel the same. But that doesn’t make you insane. However, if you’re being given a lot of distress by the thoughts, you may want to find a way to soothe yourself.
