I’m dealing with a lot of issues right now and have been struggling with being depressed. People keep telling me to “give it to God” or “lay your burdens on Jesus”. I want to and I’ve tried, but I don’t know how. Suggestions?

I know it must be difficult to hand your problems to God, it is a constant struggle to trust Him and truly surrender the matter into His hands. I understand your plight very well with trust. Persevere and continue praying to Him about your depression and have FAITH it is with God and it is solved and don’t take the problem back as if it were still yours but entrust it to Him. God cares about you and is willing to take your depression away as long as you leave it in His hands.

Also, spend more time reading the Word of God because your faith in him will grow as you do so. Hear what the Lord speaks to you as you read the word and follow it.
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” -Romans 10:17
Ask Him for faith in your prayer too, because faith comes from Him. And when you pray about your problem, with the faith he has given you, you will overcome your depression, no doubt. Just remember to persevere always and continue asking Him, even when it seems hopeless. Know that the reward for faith, is victory over all problems.
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”- 1 Peter 5:7

Remind yourself constantly that God is with you and He cares for you, that he is your refuge and strength in times of trouble. You are loved, so never forget He is with you even when you feel so low, just remember He is there no matter what. Your life is in His hands.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”- Matthew 7:7
It WILL be given unto you. WILL 😀 All you have to do is ask Jesus in faith. The joy of the Lord is your strength, so be happy that He is there for you always and won’t ever forsake you. Once you fully trust in Him, you will have joy. Do not worry, do not be anxious in every situation in your life. There are times for me when I’ve been very busy with work and I’ve been behind in classes, but somehow God worked it out for me. Even when I didn’t study for my finals, He worked it out for my good. Never worry about those things, especially when it seems impossible. In such situations, be glad, because you know that God will conquer for you. Just live normally and follow his commands as spoken in the bible. Love those around you, because love is the greatest command in the Word. Submit your whole life and desire unto Him, then all your worries will melt away. Work to perfect yourself by living a life free of sin. Sin separates you from God and many times is the reason He doesn’t answer prayers. Live wholesomely, but in a Holy manner, obeying Him always. Jesus does not condemn you when you do sin, but he did tell us as Christians to go and sin no more, because he hates sin, but he loves you.

I love you, Sister in Christ, and I’ll continue praying for you.
