I have never had a boyfriend, and while I am a hopeless romantic, I’m really not in a hurry to get one. I am only a Sophomore in college, and I know I have plenty of time to find “the one.” In the past week or so, a boy at my college has developed an interest in me. So far we’ve gone to lunch and talked back and forth over Facebook, and tomorrow we’re having lunch again. The problem is, I don’t want to give him the wrong idea; he has not told me that he likes me, but it’s kind of obvious…I just don’t want to hurt his feelings. I am absolutely flattered that someone would develop an interest in me, but I don’t want to get my heart involved in anything at this moment. I’ve never had experience with flirting, and I honestly don’t know how; but what do I do to avoid leading him on? Thank you for any advice!

I totally understand what you’re going through! And I have found it best to be completely upfront and honest with him. Explaining that you don’t know what is behind this or where it is headed, but you’re just not in place to get involved with anything more serious than a friendship 🙂 I pray this helps in some way!
