So another thread in the Relationships form (Shout out to MacDawn and Teenfashionista!) made me curious as to what you think of when you think about purity.
So post away 🙂

Purity in my opinion is keeping your focus and believing in God and His goodness, mercy, and forgiveness even in times of trouble. A heart that is pure seeks to do good and has no trace of evil or malevolence in it. Such a heart shall be blessed richly by God.

Shout out back to ya! lol I think purity is more than just abstaining from pre-maratial sex. It’s about keeping your thoughts, words, and actions honorable and pure and, above all else, being above reproach in everything you do

Thanks for replying! Those are both such beautiful definitions of purity.

I agree with @celby. The intent of your heart is to do good and without malice, evil, or ill intent.

I think purity is seeking after Jesus and working to sanctify your thoughts and actions to be more like him.

Hm, I think purity is about much more than about the sexual things you do and the clothes you wear… (Sexual) purity for me is not (ab)using people for pleasure and not seducing people or trying to manipulate people with sex and erotic stuff. It also means for me not to look at porn or read erotica or indulge in fantasies with stars or actors or people other than your partner. Probably it’s the same for other emotions like anger or rage. That you don’t let these emotions rule over you and keep your heart pure and not let it be tainted by hate, egoism or lust.

Celby, you put that beautifully 🙂
