How much make up should a 14 year old wear? How much is to much? What are some good styles to wear for school? What is ok to wear in middle school? What do you do if people you a skank because of your makeup?

I started wearing makeup when I was about 13 or 14. At first I went all out, concealer, eye shadow, bronzer, blush, lipstick, ect, but when I got home and took it all off I began to realize how much better I looked without it! Now I just wear mascara, concealer, blush (when using blush remember that less is more), and lip gloss. I feel so much prettier now that I have cut back on my makeup! Some girls can get away with a lot of well placed makeup, but I can’t! It’s whatever you feel comfortable with, and whatever YOU think looks best on YOU. 🙂

Same @Nate. I started wearing makeup during 7th grade, maybe the end of 6th grade and I tried to wear a lot but now I don’t wear much because I find that with makeup, less is more. I’d say that a good every day look would be some mascara, lip gloss, and maybe some face powder if you need it. I would say stay away from eyeliner. So many middle schoolers overdo eyeliner and it looks really tacky. If you don’t go overboard, people won’t call you a skank, and if they do, who cares. It’s your decision.

^^ yup, also, I really like wearing just a teensie weensie bit of blush. I think it makes my skin look very healthy. You may want to get color matched for it, though.

First off, I think it’s awesome that you are asking! And yes I agree that overdoing it at a young age is not very complimentary. I’d start with one or two things. Maybe go to school with mascara, try it for a week and see how you like it. Forget about other people’s opinions for a minute – what do YOU think? Then the next week try something else(with mascara, if you like) . It’s okay to play with it a little bit, I don’t think anyone is going to expect you to be a professional right now. Just remember less is more. And remove your make up at the end of the day. < to love on your skin. 🙂 Also the most beautiful makeup you can wear is a smile. Sometimes that's all you need. And make sure your makeup routine is not taking up time with God. Because he's your daddy. And BFF.:)

I like how everyone says mascara 😛 Mascara is the best. It’s very easy to apply and difficult to overdo and it makes your eyes POP. Btw mascara is my favorite makeup item ever. Personally, I like to save eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, and lipstick for when I have something fancy to go to or when I’m singing on stage and want to look not completely dead. Experiment and maybe get some insight from older friends, siblings, or whoever you know that can give you an honest answer on how something looks.
