So, I have mentioned before that I hate swimming and get nervous when my friends and I go swimming together. So, my family is kinda well, conservative. It’s not like I wear Duggar swimsuits ;), but my… well, I can’t wear a bikini. To be honest, I am not a guy, I can’t know how it makes them feel, I am not sure if I could if I would. But I am just frustrated. My friends Izzy and Baileigh can’t either, but other than that, well all my other friends can. My friends and I (we call ourselves JJ KRABB) were tentatively planning to go swimming, and I faked interest, but the truth is, I don’t wanna go since my friends Amanda, Brooke and Brenna will all have amazingly sexy bikinis and there I will be in my sailor-style ONE PIECE! ONE PIECE! So old fashioned. I felt bad so I made a joke about my male friend wearing a duck bikini (he likes ducks) And even the most Christian girls I know have freedom to wear what they want. Seriously! Hokey smokes!
My church is doing a Girls’ Retreat, and since there are no boys around, that means we have freedom of swimwear. I think some of my friends wear conservative and one piece suits, (one of my friends isn’t allowed to wear a bikini either) but some of them can were whatever they want. Yeah, I’m nervous. I am afraid of having a panic attack. Last retreat, I was pacing the floor furiously and my youth leader Katie had to ask what was wrong…
I guess, IDK, if I went swimming with JJ KRABB, i might be jealous of the three girls and the boys (including my crush) might be… you know… looking at them in a certain way. I guess I get jealous if a guy I like is looking at other girls dressed that way.
I have had this problem for YEARS, and get secretly jealous if a girl is wearing a bikini, and never knew how to cope with it. Not like I’m jealous of her body, but just that she has freedom.
Any advice? Please no comments about me being a baby cause I wear a stupid sailor one piece! Thank you!

Do you like wearing one pieces? If so, continue. Don’t let anyone call you a prude or behind-the times.
Do you want to wear a two piece? Then go for it. Don’t let anyone call you a slut or attention seeker.
Wear what you want. You do not have to put on or take off clothes for anyone.
P.S. Is this what you mean by sailor-style? http://www.unique-vintage.com/retro-sailor-one-piece-swimsuit.html

Well because of parental units, I cant exactly.
Well it has the same straps, but it has a built in skirt and is a solid blue with white polka dots

I understand how you feel- my parents are pretty sensitive about that stuff, too. Maybe ask for a compromise and see if you can wear a tankini? It might still fit in with your parent’s modesty standards, seeing as teh belly is covered, and it’s a two piece. But what you have sounds really fun.

I can wear a tankini. The thing is, I am nervous about a girls’ retreat this summer…. We are all going to the lake and I can’t really not go

Yeah I get what your saying. Sometimes I struggle with that. I prefer tankinis. they tend to come in cuter more fashionable cuts.
