I really want to start a relationship with my guy best friend. He’s a very strong Christian, and qualities that I think my parents would love for me to have in a boy friend. The only problem is that he is black and I’m white. I know my parents wouldn’t approve of that because of that reason. They aren’t Christian (or at least they are “lazy Christian”) so they don’t really get the whole prayer, listen to God thing. I really want to start this relationship, but I’m scared of what they may think. Him and I are both in college, and I live with my parents. Please pray that God reveals to me what I should do? If you have any advice, that would be awesome. Thanks!

If you’re in college, that means you’re 18 or older, right? Which means that you’re an adult and you can make your own decisions. I know it can be tricky if you’re living with your parents, because I know you probably want to please them, but if this is something you really want, do it! Speak to them about why they have prejudice against this guy and his skin color (which is literally just skin color). Tell them that you feel this is the best thing to do for yourself and this is something you really want. Definitely pray about it: pray for good conversation and pray that your parents come to a positive opinion about this man. I’ll pray for you, too 🙂 Good luck!
