I just repented and I want God in my life but I don’t know where to start or how to get rid of my sins and doubt of him sometimes

Hey Izzy! I’m so happy that you’ve decided to follow Christ! I suppose the very first step is inviting Him into you heart. You can do that with a simple prayer asking Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. The cool thing about Jesus is that he died for our salvation from our sins, so we don’t have to do anything to “get rid of” them. All we have to do is ask for forgiveness from them and we’re forgiven.
That doesn’t mean that we as Christians don’t sin anymore after that. It’s a continual process of striving to be like Christ and having faith in Him, and repenting when we fall short.
Do you have a Bible? That will become your tool as you follow Christ. I recommend getting a study Bible if possible, because there’s a little more help with interpreting passages and understanding context.
I wish you all the best as you begin your journey! I’ll be praying for you! 🙂

Well, first off, that’s great that you want to make this choice in your life! It’s a big one, but an important one. And well, getting saved is the easy part, due to Christ’s love and mercy. First off, the bible states in Romans 10:9-“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Therefore, when you believe that Jesus Christ was sent, died on the cross for you, and rose again and confess your sins and turn from them, you will be saved. Just pray, God will listen. He loves you so much more than you can ever imagine! Ask for forgiveness and tell him you believe in what he has done, ask him to enter into your heart and to guide you. I hope this helped, now it’s between you and God!(:

I’m glad you’ve chosen to be a Christian! Welcome to the Kingdom! Just in agreement to the girls above, it is good that as a new believer you get plugged into a church or a bible study group that will help build you up in faith. A good way of knowing how to live now as a new Christian is by reading the bible, especially the New Testament books since they’re revealing of the new life you should live as a Christ follower and who Christ is. Another thing to do in growing closer to God is praying to Him. You can pray to the Lord about any circumstance in your life you need help with. With God being our provider you can cast all your problems ( emotional, with other relationships, your weaknesses, struggles, other peoples’ problems …e.t.c) on to Him. God wishes indeed to be your everything, so you can come to Him when in need. God love is abundant for you and He will lead you in your life, so don’t worry about cleaning everything up at a go, He will reveal those sins to you one at a time in your life and will provide the necessary strength needed to conquer them as long as you ask for it. It is good to know that God has provided love, mercy, strength, nourishment (His word), and comfort for you as a believer when going through your walk with Him. No matter what mistakes you shall make, remember God’s love and mercy for you are abundant; so never be ashamed, He is always for and with you no matter what happens. One pitfall as a Christian that I made was getting trapped up in guilt for sin and worry about fulfilling God’s plan for me; There’s good news: No need to worry at all or be trapped in shame! Remember: if you ask for the Lord’s guidance, He will give it to you and He will transform you by His mighty hand, in His own way.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”– Jeremiah 29:11
It’s not always going to be easy, and sometimes you may feel alone, but God is with you and it is so important that you trust that whatever is going on in your life is for your good. Even when it looks bad. Know and have hope that this life is short and Jesus is coming soon to take us from this world (the rapture). You may email me at mancillian@gmail.com if you have any questions on that or anything else in your life: I’m willing to talk and help you 🙂
Remember, God is always with you, He loves you, He will never leave nor forsake you and the life we live now is to become more loving, kind, faithful, patient, joyful, peaceful, good, gentle, and self controlled (Galatians 5:22). In other words to become more like Christ and love the way He does to others in this world. To be the light in a world of darkness.

I love you, sister. You are a new creation right now in Christ, so don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You are loved and welcome in this Kingdom of God. The angels rejoice over your salvation and God does too!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

God Bless You!
