So. Basically what’s going on is, I’ve really felt a deep desire to have my life literally centered around God. It was so surreal and strange and amazing when it first happened. At church one Sunday, I really didn’t want to go home. I just wanted to stay there FOREVER. Like, I want everything in my life to revolve around God, or have some factor of God in it. I guess this desire is what made me want to do this in the first place.
Recently, I’ve really become affected by the way our generation acts and behaves. It saddens me so much and I want to do something about it. I go to a Christian school, but I feel that my fellow high-schoolers aren’t really Christian at all. So, I was thinking of starting this little group where we all meet together and pray and praise God and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in how the session is run. You know?
The thing is, I’m afraid. I don’t want to do this alone, but it’s been niggling at me for a while now. Do you guys think that I should just go ahead and do it anyway? Tell some people around about it and see if they’ll help me? I feel like God’s calling me to work in the youth ministry. Anyway, I need opinions on this group thing and if I should do it or not. So yeah. 🙂

You should do it! It’s worth it even if you’re afraid.

Don’t ignore the call of God. My dad did. He’s now the pastor of a church that runs about 300 people, and he has a PH.D. There’s no fighting it. Don’t ignore it. Act now.

I agree with @EmmaG7. Do not ignore the call of God on your life. Jonah did and I think we all remember what happened to him 🙂 I know it can be scary and challenging and definitely out of your comfort zone but if you just follow God’s call you will see amazing things happening. Maybe not right away, maybe it will be hard, but with God nothing shall be impossible for you. We here at PI will all be praying 🙂

I would say the first step is to find a loyal “partner in crime”, for lack of a better term ;D You know, a friend who likes the idea and is willing to dedicate some time and effort to it. I started a club at my school, and after I found a few friends who were willing to help me, it became a lot easier and a LOT less daunting. Good luck:)

Go for it!

Girl, if you feel like you’re being lead by the Holy Spirit to do something, DO IT! That is the thing on the inside of you hungering for the fire of God! So go for it! Spend time deep in prayer with the Father and let him guide you.
