CHRISTMAS!
Maybe not quite. 104 days remain till the best holiday ever!
I, being the cliche fun loving and sometimes ahead person I am, have started compiling my Christmas list.
I know, I am early but my family makes a huge deal about how I don’t tell them what I want in time, blah blah blah. But this year wont be like that. I am releasing it to facebook in November 1st. That’s not what this is about though.
I have a fairly good list so far. But I don’t have a lot of variety. Some clothing, jewelry, and mainly nerd related stuff. Fandom stuff. That being said, is it really okay to ask my grandparents for fan merchandise? They already think I am slightly weird and don’t really want them realize the extend of my fandom trashieness.
Any ideas on what else I can ask for? #firstworldproblems

Also because yay Christmas spirit, I have created a list of questions for you, if you wanna fill them out.

1. Favorite Christmas Song;

2. Least Favorite Christmas Song:

3. What Was Your Favorite Gift Ever:

4. When do you normally start planning/shopping?

5. What is an appropriate time to start decorating?

6. What is going to be on your list this year?

7. Do you believe in Santa?

8. What traditions does your family have?

Yay Jesus being born! XOXO

4. When do you normally start planning/shopping?
Well, erm, December 26..?

5. What is an appropriate time to start decorating?

I adore these!

7. Do you believe in Santa?
I believe in anything that gives me free stuff.

8. What traditions does your family have?
We always go Christmas light viewing on Christmas Eve. And I’m so exited that my sister and I get to set up the Christmas Village that my grandfather passed down to us when he died, again this year.

I guess I am kind of a Grinch. I like to put up a tree (I even have one for my apartment) and I love spending time with family, but I dont love Christmas. Maybe its because my birthday is 10 days before and it always got lumped together which I didn’t like.

as far as questions go
1 & 2. I actually dont like Christmas songs. I find most of them to be extremely annoying.
3. Cruise control in my car! It was a birthday and Christmas gift but one I use every single day.
4. I start planning like a week before Christmas. I put the tree up sooner, and with the Christmas exchange in my family I may start coming up with ideas sooner, but I don’t actually do any planning until 2-3wks before hand.
5. Decorate AFTER Thanksgiving. Seriously people! I like one holiday at a time. Although up until a few years ago I had a ban on any Christmas decoration before my birthday.
6. Nothing really on my list. I actually really want to donate money to a couple foundations this year, so I’d rather get cash so that it can go there instead of to me.
7. Santa? Nah. But that’s okay. I do love watching the magic in a child’s eyes in them believing though.
8. We didnt have traditions growing up. Except if we were in WA visiting family we always had to go to Grandma Evil’s house (my mom’s grandma. None of us liked her).

I know when I get married and have kids Christmas will become so much more magical again as I actually am huge into having kids experience a magical day. I love listening to my nephew talk about it. Its just not all that special to me for some reason.

I adore everything about Christmas! It’s my absolute favorite time of the year.

1. Favorite Christmas Song;

Changes frequently, probably Silver Bells by Martina McBride

2. Least Favorite Christmas Song:

Oooo I can’t remember the names but we had several really annoying ones at the store I used to work at.

3. What Was Your Favorite Gift Ever:

Favorite gift ever….hmmmmm. Ok don’t laugh, my mom got me a Ninja blender (it’s like a personal blender) and I use it all the time. So convenient!

4. When do you normally start planning/shopping?

Well I already know what I’m getting everyone in my family, I shop from sept-dec. usually.

5. What is an appropriate time to start decorating?

Right after Thanksgiving

6. What is going to be on your list this year?

Haven’t thought about it yet

7. Do you believe in Santa?

SANTA?! DON’T YOU KNOW SANTA IS OF THE DEVIL? YOU CAN REARRANGE THE LETTERS AND GET SATAN. AHHHHHHHHH. 😮 (I’m kidding in case you were wondering. My parents, however, were not when they told me this 😛 ) So in answer to your question, no, I have never believed in Santa. (Also, I read this chick tract once where the author somehow connected a belief in Santa to the precursor to a murder…it was very strange. Those chick tracts are very strange IMHO). I personally think Santa, elves, and Christmas magic is very creative and fun.

8. What traditions does your family have?

Decorating our tree right after thanksgiving
Making Gingerbread cookies
We used to host an Xmas party every yr, way fun 🙂
Big Christmas breakfast with cinnamon rolls and other yummy food
Cake (for Jesus, you know. Jesus must have cake on his birthday 😉 )

Thanks for creating Juanita! I’m soooooo ready for Christmas!

1. Favorite Christmas Song; Can’t say I have one…I don’t usually like Christmas music at all.

2. Least Favorite Christmas Song: I have to agree with Juanita on Baby, It’s Cold Outside. That song is creepy.

3. What Was Your Favorite Gift Ever: It would have to be this stuffed animal kitty my sister got me when I was 4 or 5-ish. Loved it then, of all my stuffed animals (which I loved) it was my favorite. Still love it, still have it–it sits on my headboard now. It’s quite the hideous cat, but I don’t care. His name is Beanie.

4. When do you normally start planning/shopping? Uhh…like 2 weeks before, at most.

5. What is an appropriate time to start decorating? I’m torn between saying “whenever you want, I don’t own you.” And saying “the week of Christmas, that’s when we do it.”

6. What is going to be on your list this year? If I had a list…video games. My parents and I have become so Bah-Humbug about Christmas that we’ve done away with the gift exchange almost entirely and they just give me money to by whatever I want…because they know I’d rather just save the money anyway–That’s pretty much what I do.

7. Do you believe in Santa? Haven’t since I was 6ish..still got presents for a lot of years though. Strange, isn’t it? 😀

8. What traditions does your family have? We usually visit my uncle’s house oj Christmas day and have breakfast as the big happy family we are. Bacon and eggs. And fry bread. Yum. Always has been my favorite part of the holiday.

1. Fav Christmas Song : Oh holy Night.

2. Least Fav Christmas Song: Days of Christmas. I always end up bitting my tongue.

3 Fav gift: i’ve only had one Christmas gift in my life, it was a plastic wand and it wasnt really a gift I just happen to put it in the cart when we were about leaving so my mom had no choice but to buy it. I was in primary school.

4 When do we start planning/shopping : when we start hearing all those christmas bonanza ads on the radio and TV or when we see that the people at the marker have began to sell decorations.

5 Appropriate decorating time: mid november probably.

6 what will be on your list this year: I write my wishes to God so… I dont think even if anyone of my family members wanted to get me something, they could do a better job than the bossman himself.

7 Do I believe in santa: Nope.

8 What traditions does your family have : None really, after church we just eat an d eat and eat. Traditions? if eating jollof rice counts then yeah. We make chin chin and meat pie, watch a movie or smth and invite friends.
