This thread doesn’t have any particular topic, but I was thinking we could just get a nice conversation going here. What do y’all say? 🙂

I’ll start us off:

Have any of you ever had a pet turtle? I haven’t, but I really wanted one when I was five. My mom told me they were illegal to buy in this state, though. Turns out that’s only with box turtles. :l xD

I have never had a pet turtle but I have heard that they are really really gross. Like the stink and I don’t think that their temperament is super great. I love hamsters though! And obviously dogs and I kinda love cats, but it depends on which cat we are talking about. But I do have the best cocker on the planet! XD

I never had a turtle, but there is this one kid at my youth group who is OBSESSED with turtles. But I have a couple of pet kitties 🙂

I have never owned a turtle, and I don’t think I could. My family does own 2 German Sheperds, several cats (including the most ADORABLE bunch of kittens ever), 2 geckos, and some boring fish. 😛

My brother had a box turtle and he made a little area in our yard for it after he’d had it for three years and we found out that there are lots of peregrine falcons in our little corner of Chicago. lol
We’d had Peanut for 4ish years and so it was a sad moment. And unless the tank hadn’t been cleaned she didn’t smell. She was sweet. Didn’t do much though.

@f u Once a peregrine falcon stayed in our house over night. It was blizzard and the dog brought him in ALIVE. My mom put him in a wicker basket in her bathroom till her defrosted, then we let him go in the morning. He still visits every now and again.

Try having a pet hermit crab. A few actually. I also had two corn snakes and a boaconstrictor (however it’s spelled). We named him Bounce.

I kinda wish I could have a pet snake, but my mom hates them. This does mean, however, that I can chase her around with snakeskin.

That was fun. XD

I don’t have a pet turtle, but the girls I babysit do! His name is SloBro, not kidding! 😀 I do have a pet dog though. He is the best dog ever. He comforts me when I’m crying, comes to greet me, shakes my hand and high fives me! I love Stephen so much I could just explode!! 😀

This is a bit dead, but eh, I saw talk of reptiles. And I really like reptiles.
I have a snake that I got as a reward for good grades in the sixth grade. He is a very easy-going Mexican Black Kingsnake named Edgar. I also have a leopard gecko named Harley. Turtles are cool too, but I prefer tortoises honestly. 😀

What’s the difference between turtles and tortoises, anyway? Tortoises are bigger, right?

Tortoises = land
Turtles = water.
Turtles are more water based, while tortoises are found primarily on land.
Their builds are generally different because of that as well. 🙂
