Before I get into it, I want to be perfectly clear that he has not been leading me on or been inappropriate with me in any way, shape or form. I also want to stress that he is not my direct youth leader or the youth pastor. I have many godly, female leaders in my life that are ministering to me and creating big change in my life for the better. He is one of the leaders for the high school guys. Now, let’s move onto the topic. I have a crush on him because, on top of being a kind, honest, intelligent (and, yeah, good looking) person, he has a heart and passion for God that cannot be overlooked. In short: he is everything I’ve been told to look for in a boyfriend and potential marriage partner. I also feel it should be stated that he is 20, and I am 17. I’m not wondering if it’s wrong to like him because of the age gap. (My parents are 5 years apart in age and have the happiest marriage I have ever seen). I’m wondering if it’s wrong to like him because he is one of the youth group leaders? And I feel it should also be mentioned that he is very much single.

Three years won’t be much of an age gap in a few years but right now any relationship between you two is totally inappropriate. Wait, and pray that God would show you at the right time if your feelings are from Him or take them away if they aren’t in His plan for your life.

I think it is okay age wise, but him being a youth group leader and you being the youth Is going to lead in some awkward situations. Just keep praying about it and soon you will find the answer. 🙂
