So I have an internship out at the boy scout camp this summer. I am really excited about my internship and getting to be out at camp and in charge of my own kitchen! It is going to be a really good opportunity and I love the people I am working with this summer. During training this weekend, got to catch up with my brother’s friend, Pat who I met last summer and we hit it off. We have always been able to just hang out and talk. He was taking a long time to get his food so he could talk to me and we went out and put our fire out after the campfire we did was over. We talked the whole time. It was just wonderful. We are really good together and he is someone I really want to get to know and maybe date. The only thing standing in the way of me dating him is that he has a girlfriend. I wish I had gotten to know him before he started dating her. I have found myself hoping and praying for them to break-up. I know that is a jerkish move and shouldn’t happen but it does. Any advice?

I don’t know if you’re going to see this, but hopefully someone who’s in somewhat of the same situation as you are will:
Here’s the thing about friendships: sometimes people think it’s something more than it is when it’s not always the case. There’s a possibility he merely just likes you as a friend and it’s so easy to hang out with you because you’re also the sister of his friend. I’m sorry you want it to be more even though he has a girlfriend, but the best possible thing for you would be to just continue to be his friend; if you don’t think you could do that, it’s best to just stop talking to him just in case someone gets hurt mentally.
