Lol yes. I know we already have a ton of posts on this but I found this article that I wanted to share, it makes a lot of sense to me and I’d love to hear your opinions. Fire away! 🙂

It’s been shared here before, but it’s been a long time. It’s such a good article! Well written, and makes good points. More people need to see it.

Fortunately, I really wasn’t raised that way. The rules were that skirts had to be long enough to cover your underwear if you bent over (I always checked that, and it wasn’t mentioned much, because that’s how long I wanted my skirts then anyway) and tops shouldn’t show too much boob (Bra should be contained inside of shirt). Swimsuits had to cover the tummy, though when I turned 18 I bought a bikini without asking. Took my mom a little bit to mention it, but she thought it was cute. Dad didn’t look approving, but he never said anything, lol. My dad and brother stayed waayyy out of any kind of clothing discussion, so when people are like, “Oh my brothers would never let me wear that!” or “My dad has to approve all my outfits!” I get significantly weirded out. Dad can set rules, because he’s a parent, but checking every one of your outfits is creepy. And brothers should mind their own frickin’ business. 😛

For some reason though, my grandma gets after my younger sister for wearing “low cut” stuff. I can wear the EXACT SAME THING, and my grandma will be like, “That’s so cute!” My younger sister is an adult as well, and has only a slightly larger bust. Don’t make no sense.

Yeah my dad never comments on my clothing unless it’s a compliment, and if my big bro tried to “approve” an outfit I’d find that utterly bizarre. Like, if you have to approve mine, you have to let me approve yours 😛 lol

Hi girl! Um my view of modesty would be that it’s about attitude and carrying yourself in a respectful way. I would not want to be seen as sex material but marriage material. Im all for modesty and balancing out the kind of clothes we wear. You can still be modest and sexy, it’s possible 🙂
