Does anyone have family members who believe conspiracy theories? Or do you yourself believe them? I think some of my family members believe in the New World Order–that is, 99% of the population is ruled by the 1% or will be soon.
I looked it up to find out what it is, and why I should believe it and basically the main points for the article were:
We are definitely in a totalitarian society because of public school. Kids learn only what the government wants them to learn. They learn to obey without question and memorize without thinking. Their creativity and think-outside-the box skills are diminished.
^^This is dumb because….No one is forced to send their kids to public school. You can homeschool, do private school, find an enormous amount of different curriculums to learn from–heck, you can even “unschool.” <If you don't know what that is google it . As far as creativity and thinking outside the box goes, that's something you just learn for yourself. Sure, it would be great if schools encouraged it more, but you can find a class or hobby or sport that encourages that type of thing.
The other point was that people are enslaved because they work 9-5. Again, no one is forced to work 9-5. I know plenty of people who don't.
Then it said that the elite families (apparently there's 13) consider themselves to be descendants of ancient gods. (I have no clue how they found this out)
—___— the more I read the more bizarre and funny it becomes. People need to think for themselves and not blindly follow others or the government, but believing conspiracy theories with absolutely no proof is, well, let's say unwise.
I'd love to hear your opinions on the matter. Here's the article I read:

I do believe in a New World Order happening but Bibilically, I do not believe it will happen until the apocalypse starts. I believe that the New World Order will be lead by the Anti-Christ. I do believe that a mention of the Anti-Christ leading a New World Order is in the Bible in Revelation (please correct me if I am wrong and send me Bible verses stating otherwise) However, I believe there are common misconceptions about the New World Order that are really, just a conspiracy. I believe we will all have one currency (This is happening in Europe-The Euro and there are rumors of it happening in America and Asia??-Once again, probably a rumor for now) and that we will all be forced into one religion worshipping the Anti-Christ.
Good new though, the Bible says that we believers will be raptured before the apocalypse and before this happens, so we will not have to live through this. I am no expert on the book of Revelation whatsoever and I would appreciate it if anyone has any contradictions to what I have to say! I am always open to learning new things and correcting the current knowledge I have 🙂

The Bible doesn’t say if we’ll be raptured before the Tribulation. I’ve met a lot of people who think it will be mid-trib.

Lost~I agree! After I posted, I remembered there was a verse in Revelation that insinuated a one-world government. But I’m no expert on Revelation either–I read it once and was pretty confused on a lot of stuff 😛
I believe we will be raptured before the tribulation too, although I’m not sure where it says that. I guess i’d have to look into it more 🙂 My point was that I don’t think it’s happening right now.

AdventureGirl- Know one knows the day or the hour. There have been signs of a New World Order, and the end of time since Jesus descended back into Heaven. I think God did this so that we are always on our toes, always expecting him. The rapture may be very soon, or it may be hundreds and thousands of years away. We will never know. We have signs when to expect it, but we will always expect it.

Meh, I don’t worry about it.
I find a LOT of far right conservatives do. I live in the South, so everyone I know is like, super conservative. They have taught me that I am not. 😛

Slinky- I no longer worry about them either haha there are sooo many going around, I think the only “conspiracy” theories I believe are the ones that are truly in the Bible. I don’t really give much thought to how the NSA is going to take over the world, or how Obama hasn’t aged in 20 years (obviously an android ;))
Is it bad that I don’t identify with a political party? I feel like I can’t completely agree with the liberals, democrats, republicans, or conservatives. I believe all of these parties have their good points and their bad points. Or maybe I’m a mixed up human being 😉
