I’m SO confused about this. this is one topic I never get a solid answer on. IS IT WRONG OR NOT??? . I understand staying pure by not looking at porn and by not having premarital sex and stuff. that is solidly wrong. But masturbation . . . no one seems to have a good answer. some say that its normal and healthy even, while others say that its a sin against God. I know I can’t be the only one to wonder about this. does anyone have a solid answer to this? And also logical and biblical reasoning behind it? I’m sure a ton of people are BEYOND confused with this. I know I am.

It IS a sin because masturbation is basically a sexual desire, mainly because of hormones, and such.

This I believe really should be brought out more, lack of information and everyone seems to be afraid to talk about this but so many deal with this.
Well it’s sinful because when you do it you are lusting, simple as that and you know what you are thinking about is unpure.

it is a sin because ur body is the temple of the holy spirit. it is where our lord almighty resides. moreover u have to save ur body for ur future husband. also the lord says that looking someone with lust is itself an act of adultery. so when u masturbate, it is surely lustful and equal to adultery.

The reason why it can be sinful is because impure thoughts often come along with it. If you can find a way to do it and not have impure thoughts, have at it!:D lol this is something that I wondered about too. Check out this video!! It explains it really well, and it’s really funny!!

The reason God created sex was to multiply. But not only that He created it so that we can pleasure our mate. Sex is not a selfish act so when you masterbate you are pleasing yourself which is going against God’s design which is sin. I wish that people would be open more about this because it is a problem that many young people today struggle with.
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.~Ephesians 5:3

Let me ask you this, what is the purpose in doing it? I know where you’re coming from. There is no set answer to this question in the bible per say and everyone in society is either saying do it or don’t because it’s sinful. We just don’t know because Jesus never said in his own words: do not masturbate.
So that brings me back to my initial question: what is your purpose in doing this? Is it to pleasure yourself? Or is it to try it because everyone else is doing it? For me it was the definitely the second of the two. I thought maybe doing such actions was cool. Or it would make me more comfortable with my body for whenever I did have intercourse with a man. I thought it would make me confident. Now I’m not going to tell you either way what to do, however in my own mind I have determined it as wrong. Nothing about it was glorifying my God, just me. These feelings that God had designed for you to share with someone else I was spending all by myself. There was nothing satisfying about it to me, unless it was linked with another individual or feeling in mind. This is one of those things where I believe it is your own choice between you and God. I recommend praying about anything like this and where your heart is, because none of us are going to be the one’s watching you or judging you in eternity. Just God.
As a finishing thought, the one thing I have learned, is that no matter how I mess up my God is a forgiving God. We are going to mess up, we are human. God wants you to be happy in that way, that’s how he designed it. However I believe he designed it with another purpose in mind. As I said, ultimately this all your decision, but if you want a cut and dry answer, don’t do it. I hope that helped 🙂 email me if you ever want to talk or pray about anything!
