“My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright, he is a shield for those who walk in integrity…” (Prov. 2:1-7, ESV)

In this passage is a promise from God to anyone who will hear it; the promise of knowledge and wisdom, written for us by the wisest man who ever lived (next to Jesus of course <3), King Solomon.
When we try to seek these things for ourselves by studying or experiencing life lessons, it can often be very stressful. I personally struggle with an obsession of gaining as much knowledge I possibly can so that I don't miss out on various opportunities and so that I can be the best of the best. I've spend countless hours trying to gain knowledge from everything other than the Bible, such as: school books, psychology books, television, social media, and other people. I'm sure that I'm not alone in that. Now don't get me wrong; it's great to want to stay educated and have a passion for learning. But God's promise makes gaining wisdom a lot easier, since He is the wisest of all.
According to this passage, we don't have to study like crazy in order to gain knowledge and wisdom. We simply need to ask God to share it with us (much like the Gospel). If we ask Him for wisdom, and LISTEN for his response, we'll gain so much more than a schoolbook could ever give.
Gaining wisdom from the Lord helps in decision making, which leads to better relationships, less mistakes, and a closer walk with Him when we keep his commandments.

Nice message sis, reminds me of Romans 10:17- So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God, speaking of how our faith comes by hearing from God. External means of trying over and over to achieve faith, wisdom, joy, peace, and fulfillment do not work because such things come from God. Thanks for sharing!
