Before you panic, I’m not here to say anything bad, but more to ask for guidance. I’ve never been very religious, I mean my mom is, and I used to go to these christian after school programs until I was about 9, but I never really feel like I took any of it to heart, I was there to have a good time. Anyways, as I got older I really decided, “I’m not a christian, I don’t believe any of this.” A few years later I started to think, well perhaps God is real, perhaps Jesus did die on the cross for our sins, but not mine. I didn’t think I deserved to be Christian, and I didn’t have the nerve to devote myself to one thing, one God. Anyways this is taking to much explaining.
My questions is, how do I accept Jesus and God as my savior and my guide without being so afraid of it? How do I know it’s the right thing for me to do?

I would recommend reading through the Bible yourself, starting with one of the gospels (Luke’s my favorite). I grew up going to church, but I never really could own and understand it till I read it for myself. This will help answer a lot of your questions. Also, if you can find a strong Christian who you can ask any questions and who will help you find answers and be a mentor, that will help a lot, too.

Read biographies about CS Lewis. I think that you’ll be able to relate. Good luck! 🙂

You were crafted by Him in the womb, and He loves you dearly! He waits for you at the door, and will not leave there!
I don’t know how to say this shortly with a flow, so tough it out with me…
God isn’t one of those, “Meh, He just isn’t for me.” kind of deals, He is for EVERYONE! He knows you, He knows your heart, and He gave you free will to follow Him or not…but He will always love you no matter what you choose. The mere fact you believe you are not worthy is one of tell signs you do need Him! Being a Christian isn’t like living some high and mighty life, it is admitting you are lost and need guidance! That we do need that forgiveness! We are human, we are going to sin… I know I am a sinner! I fail everyday, and I know I need the Lord to take those sins for me, otherwise I do have no chance of going on on this world, or the next. This is all my opinion though, so take it as it is… but this is what I truly believe 🙂 It isn’t always easy, and we were never promised it would be, in fact, we were told it would be hard! But the good news is, we don’t have to go though it alone…
I just prayed for you, and ask the Lord to put a verse here for you… quite incredible how He guides us! Matthew 8:8-10 Speaks of a man who believes he is not deserving of the Lord’s guidance, but has faith and asks for help, and Jesus is amazed! I am praying for you! And sorry this is a later reply! and also sorry that it is a long one..

Be able to surround yourself or even just find one person who is immersed in the Holy Spirit. Someone that you trust and can go to for help. God takes you for who you are and what you are. He’s not gonna look at you and say “meh, not this one.” That’s not how he rolls. His grace is for EVERYONE not just the people who have understood him their “whole lives” and have done the whole church goody goody thing for sixty years.
