So, I have been really struggling with quiet times lately and I’ve noticed it REALLY affects my faith. Any help or tips for me to get back on track?

Ok, so I’m struggling with the same thing so I probably shouldn’t answer, but hey I can help a sista out right?? Ok, so these are my church notes for quiet times 😉 one, be consistent doing it everyday at the same time, and place if you can. two, ask God for his strength, he knows we can’t do it on our own so ask him to help you remember and to be consistent with your devotions. Hope this helps 🙂

I had this for a LONG time. I would convince myself that, “Oh, it’s too late. Naw, I have too much work to get done” etc, etc, etc. It’s definitely hard for a while, especially when life piles on and you’re discouraged, and even though God is the only one who can help you, sometimes you just feel too tired, or maybe even a little bit upset with God. What I started doing is this whole thing where each month, I choose five ladies to pray for every single day… when I have a reason besides myself to start my quiet time with, I’m more likely to do my quiet time, starting in prayer for these ladies (I’m pretty service oriented, so I guess that’s why this works for me) but seriously, once I’ve STARTED my quiet time, I just get drawn in by God, reading my Bible and studying, praying for others and for my own faith and walk, and just communicating with God, and listening for His voice in my life. So I guess my advice is find something that will draw you in to quiet time. It’s almost like tricking yourself at first I guess, but God WILL stoke a fire in your heart to where you LOVE to have your time alone with God!!! I’ll be praying for both of you ladies.
