Hi guys! Okay so this year I am taking Biology, and I’m currently nervous about a topic that we will soon cover. Evolution. I’m scared as to what I should say or do when it arises, being that it goes against my faith. I’m also worried about taking Chemistry next year. You see the school I go to has only one Chemistry teacher and he’s an atheist. I’ve met him a few times and the very first time we met was last year in my general science class. I remember how he told the class that the world was created by some explosion or something. Which I know is not true and I regret not speaking up and saying something. I’m afraid as to what the class has in store for me, and I was just wondering if anyone had any advice to ease my worries, or if you have gone through anything similar. Thanks in advance! ❤

You don’t have to agree with it to study it (You don’t have to believe in Zeus to learn about Greek mythology, do you?). Studying evolution and the big bang theory won’t hurt you, it’ll only help to better your understanding of the scientific view of the world. So study it, pay attention and learn as much as you can about it–knowledge is power, right?
And you don’t have to say anything if you aren’t asked directly about your opinion, either.
