So, after being told by people, that I shouldn’t sleep in a bra, I thought I would bring the discussion here.

I keep a bra on during the day because it feels weird being up and doing things without one on, haha.
I don’t sleep with one on, though. I think the flat chest thing is probably an urban myth.

There’s no reason a bra would give you a flat chest, so don’t worry about that. As long as it fits well I don’t see why it should give you back probs either. If it does, just stop wearing it. I don’t wear one to bed though, I’m just more comfortable without one.

I split the difference and sleep with a cami under a shirt or just my nightgown which has pretty good support

I sleep with a bra on all the time.

Have you tried sleeping in a padded sports bra? I do and I get them a bit oversized so I’m covered but am still comfy!

I like to sleep with one on… or at least a cami or sports bra or something. That’s just what’s comfortable for me 🙂

It’s a personal preference. When I was younger (ages 12-16) I wore a bra all the time, even to bed. Now (almost 20) I am out of my bra practically as soon as I get home (as long as Im not going on again) because I like feeling “free”. But I am also small at a B. My sister is a DD (almost onto the next size though) and would never consider even sleeping without a bra on because she gets so uncomfortable by the weight of them unsupported.
Do what you want. Whatever you feel comfortable in is what is best. Anything you read otherwise are myths.

I always take mine off (which has just become a comfortable habit) but there was one time I had heard a woman say it increases your chance of breast cancer? Not to scare anybody, but maybe it is a good idea from time to time to allow them to breathe and to avoid the constant compression!

The flat chest thing is wayyy off! I have always slept with a bra since 5th grade and do not have a flat chest. I wish the bra thing would have done that though sometimes! That being said, normal bras can cause indents on shoulders which you probably dont want but it wont hurt you. I personally would never ware s sports bra out cus its not supportive enough but i always ware a sports bra to bed because for me thats just more comfy. I work in a nursing home as a CNA and id say its about 75% of people dont ware a bra to bed and 25% do. All of these people are in the 80’s and 90’s and non of them have any issues regarding being better off one was or another and they have been doing it for a very long time.

I sleep in a bra. Its just more comfortable for me to wear one than not. I don’t think it makes any difference either way. Just make sure you remember to change it lol.
