So basically a certain guy friend of mine really likes me, and has for a while. He just got up the courage to ask me out, and I, not feeling the same, gently declined. But! He doesn’t seem to get the memo, and talked to my mother even! He offered to wait if that helped, and my mother says from what she could tell he knows me really well. But I just don’t feel the same, and I have no intentions of dating him out of pity. The thing is he started showing up at the bible study I attend, and its super awkward. My question is basically this, how do I get this guy to realize that I don’t like him without completely crushing him, when I’ve already rejected him twice!? Any advice or just encouragement would make me feel better 🙂

Well this problem might be solved by now since its 2 weeks later but here’s my advice:
Since this guy keeps pursuing you, its obvious he thinks you like him back. You could try to get him to realize that you don’t feel the same way either by subtle actions or you could just get it in the open and tell him. I would suggest just telling him straight on. I understand how you don’t want to hurt his feelings (I hate doing that too) but I think it would be better for him to hear the truth, hurt a while, and move on. After all, isn’t he going to find out anyways? And since he likes you a lot, isn’t it going to hurt him as bad whatever way you do it? I think it’s better that he find out sooner so that he can have more time to recover and move on, rather than spending more time pursuing a love interest that won’t work out.

Anyways this is how I feel about this 🙂 May God give you discernment on how to work this out.
