I am currently thinking about my social life and how everyone tells me that I need to have more fun. most times, it’s either i’m too busy or i just don’t have anyone to hang out with. my parents think that my new job is taking out of my time to relax and enjoy my youth. i don’t consciously realize that i overwork myself most times. do you have any suggestions on what i can do about this?

Hi misgirl! I’m in the same boat as you, girl. If your job is keeping you busy, keep doing it! However, if it is consuming your life and taking you away from doing the things you love, you might want to take a step back and reevaluate that choice (sorry for the strange wording). I was extremely overwhelmed with school and my job and external projects and people started to notice. It took a toll on my body, mind, and spirit and I realized that I need a total lifestyle makeover. I take a little bit of time (30 minutes or so) to browse Pinterest, phone a friend, watch a video, or stretch. It helps clear my mind so that I can concentrate more on what I am doing. Additionally, I try to book only 1 or 2 activities per weekday (an after school club and tutoring, youth group and going to the library, etc.) so that I don’t overextend myself. Feel free to ask me any and all questions you might have 🙂 God bless!
