I had family problems my whole life. There has not been a day where me and my dad or mom talked like best friend. We don’t really talk and always argue. I am in a lot of stress because my family has never tough me how to be independent. My family has never provided me with things ad when they did I would have to go through allot. My plan is to go get my full license at 18 by myself. ( borrow a car from a friend or something) Start working in two weeks somewhere and earn money to buy my own car. Once I buy my own car, and a phone I will sign up for financial aid for college and then move out of my parents house and live on my own somewhere or just find a roommate. Start college and just live life. I am really stressed all the time and I can’t take it anymore. You guys have no idea how desperate I am to not be stressed anymore or at least be less stressed. I will do absolutely anything to get out and just relax. Alll those words are said from the bottom of my heart and I ment them with all my heart. I am just tired of stress. Please if someone can please take stress out of me. I just want to live.

hey linerss. you aren’t alone. I have gone/am going through similar situations. I am going through it now. I go through many family problems and it takes a big toll out of me. I am quite a bit older than you but I am still living with them and still going to college. honestly, I think your plan sounds good. try to work and save as much money as you can, then when you have enough to buy an apartment (or be a roomie) then you can make your own rules and distance yourself from them. it may take time, but in the end, it’ll be worth it. :] also, I want you to read a couple of bible verses. (and not only read them, but memorize them, so that when you are stressed, you can remember them and say them to yourself.) God bless you! :]!!

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” -Deuteronomy 31:8

“When I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee. In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can [mere] man do to me?” -Psalm 56:3-4

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16.33

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” -John 14.27

anddd my personal favorite:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:6-7

I know what you’re going through! When I asked my mom what being married is like she just shrugged her shoulders and said it was just like being siblings. She is always so mean to dad! She used to be verbally abusive, but that has changed this past year.
All I can tell you is to pray about it. You need to use this stressful time to dive into your bible. Praying and drawing closer to God always helps me feel calmer about my family situation.
Be sure and learn from your parents mistakes! Don’t let them continue into another generation!!
