This is going to sound kind of strange, but sometimes I am legitimately stressed out about doing everything on my bucket list…. I want to play a bunch of roles in plays like Ariel in The Little Mermaid. When I found out my performing arts group couldn’t do the little mermaid I had an internal breakdown. Also, I am getting older, so I can’t be in kid productions for much longer… My HIGH SCHOOL is doing Beauty and the Beast, of course right after I graduated. I want to play Belle so bad. I want to do so many things, go so many places, etc. But with college expenses, lack of time, available friends, logistics, there are many things I cannot do. There is the typical, “You have the rest of your life” but I don’t depending on the age range in the plays I am in…. So, I am kind of stressed out about my bucket list…. Any advice.

Oh my goodness I feel the exact same way!!! I have this eleven year plan with things that I hope to accomplish every year. For example, speaking basic french by the time I graduate high school (I’m a Sophomore), and writing a book before I’m 23. I know it’s crazy, but I really don’t care xD I suppose my only advice for you is something that I remind myself every day: Be realistic with your goals. Originally, my plan said to buy a car by myself when I’m eighteen. When I realized how much cars cost, and that I’d only have two years, I moved buying a car to when I’m out of college. Being in plays is incredibly fun, and acting is one of my favorite things to do. Remember that it’s supposed to be fun, so don’t freak out too much πŸ™‚ Also, making a plan could be helpful. I thrive off of plans, lists, schedules, the like, and if you’re the same, I’d give it a try. πŸ™‚

OK, since your role in certain plays depend on your age, forget every other item on your bucket list for awhile and only focus on finding those roles and preparing for them. Most counties and cities have community theater, so I’m sure you could find auditions.

You just need to get after it! Easier said than done, I know, but I feel so much better when I’m working towards something as opposed to sitting around panicking about it lol πŸ˜›

Also, I just want to add that as you get older your desire for different roles may change. So don’t worry too much, I’m sure you’ll still enjoy acting <3
