Okay guys, I’m kinda freaking out. This upcoming Tuesday, I’m taking the accuplacer, which is this big giant test to see if you qualify for the early college programs in my state. Being able to enroll in college courses next fall, and get credit for both high school and college, would really mean the world to me because my parents are going to have a hard time putting me through college. If I test into a high level, my school will pay for the classes, as long as I pass with a b or higher.
Anyways.
As a result of the aforementioned, and some other stuff going on, I’m kind of stressed out. I want to take it, but I’m also really nervous. What do you girls do to relax? Or prep for tests? Advice is so appreciated.

Do you have a study guide? If so, answer as much as you can and hand write all of the questions and your answers multiple times. It will help you get everything stuck in your brain. Also, do something the night before other than study. Go see a movie or hang out with your friends. The morning before your test, look over things once and put your notes away. Read a book or crochet or something like that.

One thing that really helps me study and stay on task is video game soundtracks on youtube. No joke. I have an incredibly hard time focusing on what I read in textbooks and listening to music that is meant to keep people’s focus really helps! My favorite soundtracks are the Skyrim one and the Minecraft one. Both of these are fairly light and these are from games that really are a time suck and help you focus a lot! Sometimes I even listen to white noise too if I’m stressed because it really calms me down when I’m studying. If you have Pandora radio, add the Harry Potter soundtrack station! It has lots of classical movie soundtracks like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, and so on. Those also help me study.
Writing helps me study as well, however I find it very time consuming so I don’t do it as often as I should.
As weird as this sounds, procrastinating also helps me. I do everything I possibly need to do before I study (shower, get dressed, eat lunch, clean) so I’m not distracted and it also builds my pressure up so I can really get down and do it. However, make sure you don’t procrastinate too long because you want to give yourself enough time.
Best of Luck!
