First of all, let me say I absolutely love PI. It’s been a great place to work through a lot of spiritual issues and gain new perspectives. So I’m not being critical in a negative way when I say this, but I’ve always found the phrase “Modest is hottest” weird.
The point of modesty according to mainstream Christians is to remain sexually pure. The word “hot” or “hottest” means sexually attractive.
So modesty is the most sexually attractive?

I don’t exactly agree with that either. Some parts of PI and me have just agreed to disagree. I really like this blog, though – http://phyliciadelta.com/ . She writes very well.

Christianity has twisted what modest means. Modest means in definition “What is appropriate for the occasion” and while I agree, I cannot understand the phrase “modest is hottest” but I think its because PI is trying to push this trend on us.
Not to shoot down PI, but I do see PI as very secular in a lot of ways. So I stick to forums and chats.

I don’t agree with mainstream Christianity’s view of modesty either; I think the scripture verses most people use to back up those beliefs were speaking more of monetary value, or, as you said, what is appropriate for that occasion.

Hey girls! I definitely agree with AdventureGirl on the irony of “modest is hottest”. Thanks for referring my blog, Verymuchagirl <3 In this post I actually talk about why "hot" shouldn't be used as a compliment: http://phyliciadelta.com/why-i-dont-take-hot-as-a-compliment/
