I like a guy & he likes me, too. We’re good friends, but his mother doesn’t let him date. His father is indifferent. I don’t want to fight, but why does this seem like a battle? If there were sides, it would be him, his father, my parents, and me on one side and his mother on the other side- that’s the way I see it.
I do not want to disrespect his mother. Any advice?

Honestly, if I were you I would want to first know why she doesn’t want him to date. Is it age, maturity, or is she just being stubborn about it? Finding out why can help you know what to do next,if it’s age and you really like him I would say to just wait it out. It’s always better to avoid conflict with his family.

Just find out why she’s opposed. I think if you show her you’re mature enough and like her son enough to wait until she consents then you’ll have a better chance getting on her good side.
