I have a hard time feeling emotions. The only emotions I truly feel anymore are anger, sadness, and a small amount of happiness. I understand the other emotions, but I don’t FEEL them. I need help finding verses that can help me over come this and base a study off of it to help me on my journey to becoming how God wants me to be – joyful and loving. I haven’t felt love in a long time, and I’m tired of it and the only thing that can help me is God and the Bible. okay, so maybe two things, but you know what I mean.

Philippians 4:8 is a great verse. It basically says that we should meditate on the things that are good and pleasing to the Lord. This includes love, joy and patience.
I can identify with what you’re saying. There are times in my life where I feel like my emotions are muted and I didn’t really feel the good stuff. I was just kind of swimming in despair, that only got deeper when I realized that was all I was feeling. But what really helped me was to start with my thinking. 2 Corinthians 10:15 says that we should take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. This is something that is so difficult, but so necessary. Once you start screening your thoughts, you realize how negative they actually are. And once you start meditating on the good, you can start feeling it.
A healthy dose of prayer goes along with this. You have to ask God to break off you emotional apathy and fill you with His love. Reading your bible as well, because oftentimes when I get in these moods I read something that hits home so perfectly that I can’t help but to be filled with joy.
