Ok, so I was out one night with a few of my close friends, including the boy that I have liked basically forever. We got to talking about relationships and standards and stuff and he mentioned that he wants to save his first kiss for marriage. When I got home and casually relayed the conversation to my family, my sister started sneering and my dad said he thought that was weird. At the time they didn’t know I like him. Anyways, I’ve just been thinking about it a lot. Is it weird? Won’t it be weird having our first kiss publicly (if we end up marrying)? Is it worth it? I know that he is worth it (the not kissing until marriage thing), but I’m worried that it will put me (and him for that matter) under a lot of scrutiny from other people, especially my family. My family and I are extremely close, I love them dearly and respect and value their opinions, but I feel like more and more my convictions are at odds with my family’s because my dad and especially my sister are pretty liberal, my mom’s somewhere in the middle leaning more towards conservative, and from the time I was VERY young have always been pretty conservative, definitely the most conservative/traditional member of my family. I’d appreciate any advice/input. 🙂

It’s not weird at all! I know there are a lot of girls out there that want to save their first kiss for their wedding day, but I’ve never heard of a guy wanting to! That’s incredibly unique and extremely rare! If you also want to save your first kiss for marriage, you better hold onto him 😉 ! But seriously, it’s not weird; it’s just a personal choice. Don’t worry about your family; if he means that much to you, don’t let something as simple as criticism keep you away. Hope this helps!

Thanks girl. I feel like it’s one of those questions where I know the right answer in my heart and I just needed a little confirmation from someone else. I appreciate it. 🙂

Definitely not weird! In fact I plan on saving my first kiss for wedding day. That’s been my plan since I was 8! lol
