This guy just came to my school a couple months ago and caught my eye. He is a very strong Christian and talks freely about God in class. I’m starting to really like me. I’m really good friends with his sister. She goes to my youth group and I play basketball with her. I really don’t know what to do. I have 4 more years of high school left with him so if I told him and he rejected me it would be weird for the rest of high school. I thought of going through his sister but I just don’t know. Help!!

Get to know him. Dates are made more between friends than strangers. Talk to him in youth group, you don’t have to tell you like him. And if you find out you truly like him, then tell him. Maybe he will, too.

Hey,
I think you should first get to know him and build a friendship then see how it goes from there. You could talk to his sister as you said,- ask her if he likes anyone -if he doesn’t then you could start by hanging out as a group and become comfortable around him. Casually talk to him and see his reactions to you. Most importantly talk to God about it -He knows exactly what the outcome of all this will be .

Bottom line, I think you should tell him- if he is a strong Christian then it shouldn’t go badly, in fact , because he is a Christian, that should be an advantage. As I said, the key is to become friends. Trust me usually the sooner you tell him the better it might be , because sometimes we spend time worrying about all the weirdness if the feelings are not reciprocated when there is a chance of that happening. He could just be the person that God would have you be around at this time of your life.
Remember if it doesn’t work out God has a special someone for you out there and he will bring him to you in his time.
