I’ve wondered exactly what walking with Jesus means. I’m saved, trying to do my best. There it is, that phrase “trying to do my best”. I actually get very worried and anxious that I’m not doing the exact will of God at times and am started to feel like things “non Christian” are “bad” and questioning my desires. All in all, I’m trying to be a perfectionist. I just am terrified of backsliding and falling from Grace.
What is walking with Jesus? Will any desires (hobbies, interests) that are not SPECIFICALLY Christian base fade away during my walk?

I think I’ll add on to what I’ve written later, but I feel compelled to answer this now. Walking with Christ isn’t doing “Christian” things or even doing a bunch of good deeds. Those things are important, but you should never forget that having a christian walk is about having a personal, intimate relationship with our creator Jesus. God’s grace and love towards us is never taken away, because we’re not good enough for him, we’ll never be good enough. We need to realize that God’s grace is sufficient. (I say we because I struggle with this too) Hope this helps! 🙂

It certainly does! What DOES having a deep intimate relationship with Jesus mean? Sometimes i don’t want to open up to him with little things in my life because I’m afraid of being this odd person, you know what I mean? This one girl who is disconnected from the world because all she cares about is her faith. This girl who can’t have fun in life or plan her own dreams because she’s waiting for God to say something specific.

Ok, I totally see where you’re coming from. So to answer your question, being a christian may sometimes not be fun, but God will give you joy and peace if you ask for it. Having a thankful heart towards him has given me so much joy in life. It won’t be the most popular thing, but God says that that he “..has overcome the world!” You should talk to him about the little details in your life because he loves you so, so much and putting him first in our life is what we’re required to do as Christians. It’s what separates us from all other religions. We have the privilege of being in an intimate relationship with our creator who loves us deeply. Being intimate with him is spending time with him everyday by reading the word, singing to him, worshiping, and just listening for his still voice speaking to you. I like to journal and write down everything that he’s saying to me. A lot of people don’t realize that having a “God time” isn’t just talking to him during that time, but throughout the day remember him, be aware that he’s with you through everything, even when it feels like he’s not there.
