I have just recently started courting a guy from my childhood. We were always together from when were first born till I moved away. Now we have just recently reconnected and realized that we wanted to court and eventually be married in the near future. He told me that I have been in front of him his whole life and never noticed until this summer, when we were both camp counselor at youth camp for our churches. We have now been courting for 2 months. I know that I love him and I always have, but never truly realized it till we reconnected. He pursued me and continues to do so. I would like to know when and good time to say “I love you” is. Should I wait till he says it? Or should I say it first. Or should I wait until he proposes. We are both 19. he is in his 3rd year of college and I am in my 2nd year of college. I know that I truly love him with a Godly love and I want to do what God wants me to do, but sometimes that is hard when I just want to do things on my own. I would really like some advice!

Hey girl! 🙂
I’ve been struggling with this exact problem too! I’ve found the guy I’m (hopefully) going to marry, I love him, and we’re 19 too!
I’ve been wondering for the last few days if I should tell him I love him. Mainly because I was in a really bad car wreck on Friday and I realized that I don’t want one of us to die before he knows I love him.

But I’ve decided to wait for him to tell me first. As one of my best friends put it, if I tell him first, then I’ll never know when he would have said it first. And as hard as it is to wait, I really do want that moment of surprised happiness when he tells me he loves me.

I don’t think it would be wrong for you to tell him you love him, I just think it might be more special to wait for him. 🙂
