I asked someone to our high school Tolo (or Sadie Hawkins Dance), but he said no. It makes me disappointed and nervous for a few reasons. One, I’ve liked him for almost a full year. Two, others have asked their dates to Tolo. Three, it makes me nervous that I won’t get a boyfriend. Four, it makes me nervous that I’ll never be asked to a dance (and have it work out). What should I do?

Trust God; everything will be fine. For the dance, I’m sure that whatever happens, you will have a great time! Whether you end up finding a date or going with a group of friends, dances are always great places to have a lot of fun, so don’t worry 🙂 Also, don’t let whether or not you get a date to the dance worry you about the future. First, there are plenty of dances, and chances to be asked to a dance; pray and ask God to make sure whatever happens is the best for you; God has a plan and everything will turn out great. Also, whether you have a date to this dance or any other dance won’t have anything to do with whether you will get a boyfriend or not. I used to worry a lot about if I would ever find a boyfriend, but eventually I realized that God would send me someone eventually, at the right time, and he would be perfect for me because God has a plan and He knows who you will end up with; and whoever that is will be better than you can ever imagine. Once I decided to stop worrying about it and let God handle it, I felt better about it, and I eventually found someone and we have been together for a while now, and he is more perfect for me than I could have imagined. I can’t tell you exactly when you will find someone, but I do know that God knows exactly when, and it will be at a perfect time in your life. So, trust God, and everything will work out perfectly according to His will 🙂 In the meantime, have an amazing time at the dance! 🙂

UPDATE: We got a couple of friends together that night and we went bowling and did Dairy Queen. We had so much fun! I still really like him. It’s now been a year. In fact, I feel like the feelings still kind of increase. I want to tell him I like him, but I don’t know how.
