I recently discovered an online ministry called “I am Second.” The ministry helps people live for God and put themselves second to Him. It features famous actors, actresses, singers, leaders, pastors, athletes, authors and people with stories, and is a platform to get the message out. It also includes individual testimonial videos featuring some familiar faces in the media and in ministry.
The site describes its focus and purpose as:
I am Second is a movement meant to inspire people of all kinds to live for God and for others. Actors. Athletes. Musicians. Business leaders. Drug addicts. Your next-door neighbor. People like you. The authentic stories on iamsecond.com provide insight into dealing with typical struggles of everyday living. These are stories that give hope to the lonely and the hurting, help from destructive lifestyles, and inspiration to the unfulfilled. You’ll discover people who’ve tried to go it alone and have failed. Find the hope, peace, and fulfillment they found. Be Second.
Here is a video of an “I am Second” story featuring professional surfer Bethany Hamilton. You may remember the film and book based on her life called Soul Surfer:
The “I am Second” website has a “Struggles” section where people can ask questions about certain issues and watch films with testimonials on topics such as “Forgiveness,” “Self-esteem,” “Abortion,” “Child Abuse,” “Success,” “Anger,” “Pride” and many more.
“I am Second” also has groups where people can connect. If a person wants to grow, talk and share with their friends, they can join a group. It is essentially a Bible study group for learning more about the faith and discussing “I am Second” videos. PI readers, make sure you discuss it with your parents before joining a group if you are under the age of 18.
Here is Lecrae’s “I am Second” video and testimonial:
The “I am Second” videos are definitely a unique way to share the hope of Jesus, to further the Kingdom, to inspire people and to share different stories and testimonies.
PI readers, would you share an “I am Second” video with a friend? If you watched a few of the videos, which one really impacted or spoke into your life?
