I Love Carrie Underwood’s New Album “Blown Away”

TAGS: , , , , ,

Carrie Underwood released her fourth album, “Blown Away,” on May 1!  Underwood hopes the album “blows you away.” This album was different for the artist, as she wrote 8 of its 14 songs. Her latest single, “Good Girl,” reached the top 10 on country radio and Underwood just announced her upcoming tour.

According to CNN, the album has reached #1 on the Billboard charts. “Blown Away,” which Underwood just sang on American Idol (where her career was launched), is at the top of Billboard’s hot digital songs chart.

Underwood discusses the making of the album and her passion behind it:

In an interview,  Underwood said she enjoyed songwriting and that she went to new levels as a musician and artist with this album.

I’m excited about “Blown Away” because I really think it will blow people away…I felt so great writing for this album. I feel like we really just took it to new places. I feel like I have better stuff than ever and the songs are incredible. There’s something for everybody on this album, and I am very excited (www.opry.com).

I personally love Underwood and think she is one of the few leading role models in the secular music industry. Underwood tends to sing about love, heartbreak and being an overcomer! I love that she isn’t afraid to sing about her faith and what she believes. It is definitely a challenge in the entertainment industry, but in my opinion she is well-balanced and is a light in a dark world.

PI readers, what is your favorite song off the new album “Blown Away”?

I love Carrie Underwood and I loved her country music! But sadly, it seems that she’s drifting away from her original music genre with this album, but she’s still awesome!!

“Good Girl” is my favorite song off Blown Away because it shows that good girls aren’t bad and are actually a good thing. Most of the media today tells us to be bad girls, but doesn’t really touch on the values of being a good girl. I struggle with this sometimes especially if I feel like I’m being too good and that I should lighten up and have more fun. PI girls, it is GREAT to be a good girl! Guys won’t bring Ms. Bad girl home to see mom, but they will bring a good girl. Bad girls are just a candle in the wind, but being a good girl lasts forever!

I like some of Carrie Underwood’s songs, and I like her as a person, but some of her music crosses the line a little. Like “Before He Cheats” etc.

I’m not much of a country fan, but her voice is AH-MAZING! :D She is a really awesome person, too, which makes her even better to listen to and look to for a role model. <3

It’s still a really good CD but she’s gotten pop-y. Wine After Whiskey is my favorite.

Even though Carrie has never openly admitted to a faith in Jesus Christ (or has she? I don’t really know) in some of her songs we can definitely see her hinting that there is something more than us. In “Who Are Who?” we can definitely hear her singing about someone who provides for her, and obviously in “Jesus Take the Wheel” we can see her asking for Jesus’ help. I love her new album and I hope she doesn’t start producing inappropriate songs….
