ISIS Member Turns His Life Over to God

ISIS-member

Every once in a while, we come across inspirational stories that remind us just how powerful our God is. This one is especially remarkable because it comes from such an unlikely place: an ISIS fighter.

We’re all familiar with ISIS, the Islamist militant group that’s made a name for itself by killing innocent people. It’s probably the last place anyone would look to find anything holy. However, that’s exactly where this story comes from. An ISIS fighter who’s admitted to persecuting Christians had a come-to-Jesus moment that helped him turn his sinful life around:

“He told his YWAM leader that he had begun having dreams of this man in white who came to him and said, ‘You are killing my people.’ And he started to feel really sick and uneasy about what he was doing. He said, just before he [took the life] of one Christian man, the victim said, ‘I know you will kill me, but I give to you my Bible,'” said Gina Fadely, director of Youth With A Mission Frontier Missions (YWAM), in a recent appearance on The Voice of the Martyrs Radio Network and reported in The Christian Post.

He took this man’s Bible, and instead of tossing it to the side, he read it. He was so moved by the words and the stories of Jesus Christ that he decided to become a follower. How amazing is that? It’s just further proof that God works in mysterious ways! Furthermore, it tells us that there is nothing too evil or too sinful to be touched and healed by the hands of The Lord. If He can reach the heart of a cold-blooded ISIS killer, just imagine what he can do for you in your life.

Saul in the New Testament was the most dangerous persecutor of the Christian church. Yet, God got to him and turned him into the most powerful witness for Jesus. God can do that again and I pray that He would make terrorists like Saul; that they would go from the most zealous persecutors to the most zealous witnesses for Christ!
